Hi Everybody.

This is my first cafemom journal post...

I want to make a playlist of music that is good to play during severe pain. I was hoping my friends here would help me with that project. I'd be happy to share the playlist when it's done.

Distraction is a huge part of how I am able to deal with my pain.
Usually I just turn the television on softly and pray that there is
something to take my mind away. Sometimes, that's just not an option
however, such as when I'm traveling or outdoors. Music then is my way
to cope. When a Migraine attack becomes too awful to deal with the
unpredictable noises on the TV, I also turn to music.

Can you help me by telling me the songs and artists that you enjoy
when you're hurting, or give me some examples of music that might be
beneficial? I don't care what genre' as I love music in general. You
can share it here where others might also benefit from your
suggestion, or even write me off-list if you prefer.

I'm still in a bit of a Migraine and Lupus rut right now, and this would really
help me.

Thanks everybody. You are all so wonderful...

Ellen

Jan. 9, 2009 at 10:18 AM There is a wonderful CD that has whale sounds put to gentle music. They make such soothing sounds that I often use it to help relax. It is called Whale songs and I think target has it. I also suffer from lupus and when the pain is unbearable at night. I waddle outside wrapped in my robe and breathe real slow. Sometimes the tears flow but that helps too. Dealing with chronic pain is one of the hardest things I have ever done.. I understand and send a gentle hug to you, Jennifer
