Just finished Good in Bed. Forgot who its by. Its not what you think. Interesting story. Some unnecessary language. I need to read some non-fiction.
Comfort Food by Kate Jacobs. I really like it. About a widow who has a TV food show. Better than Knit Two. Now working on BOTM Good in Bed.
Knit Two by Kate Jacobs. Its the sequel to The Friday Night Knitting Club. Pretty good. I tried to follow it up with Confessions of a Shopaholic but I can't get into it, so on with the Kate Jacobs marathon with Comfort Food. I need to read some non-fiction soon; I'm out of balance :)
The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs. Very good, fun, fiction book. Good summer/beach/relaxing read. I'm already reading Knit Two, the sequel.
I can't beleive I didn't list Pain: The Gift Nobody Wants by Dr. Brand and Phillip Yancey. Excellent book on the purpose of pain. Dr. Brand worked with leprosy patients and has an interesting take on the difference between the Western and Eastern views of pain. non-fiction - quite chewy.
The Summerhouse by Jude Deveraux. Excellent book. Nice, fiction. Unpredictable. Still thinking about the three week time span I would go back to.
The Trouble with Boys by Peg Tyre. Excellent non-fiction book on the education system and how it does not fit your normal boy. We (feminists) have fought for girl power and we've won. But boys are falling thru the cracks at an alarming rate. Excellent book if you are the mom of boys, an educator, administrator, or some how linked to the education system.
Fireproof. I'm not sure who authored the book. I didn't want to read it or see the movie because I thought it would be fake, Pollyanna-Christianity; the kind that doesn't apply to normal people like me. I was wrong. If you are married or engaged, read this book. Its an easy read and it deals with some real stuff.
The Associate by John Grisham. Good book. Brain candy.
Walking with God by John Eldridge. THE best book I've read in 2009. If ever you've wondered what conversational intimacy with God would be like, read it. And, if that sounds like crazy-talk because you are too religous or anti-God to handle it, read it.
Sophie's Heart by Lori Wick - Good book. Captivating. Not sappy. About Czech woman who comes to US and finds a husband, by divine accident. (2/21/09)
A Place of Quiet Rest by Nancy Leigh DeMoss - best book on devotions I've read. Didn't make me feel like a worm; only increased my desire to meet with God on a regular basis. Good stuff.
Grace Eventually: Thoughts on Faith by Anne Lamott - Unconventional book on faith. Love to hear anyone else's thoughts on her writing.
Breaking Dawn, the last book in the Twilight Saga. Excellent way to finish!
Sometimes I Act Crazy on borderline personality disorder.
To be read (Updated: 3/08/09) - I don't know what the nightstand count is, but I don't have ANY library books in waiting. Yippee!
