Well, another day gone and thankfully another pound NOT lost. I
officially did not lose any weight yesterday, and since that is the
first day in nearly a week....I'm pretty happy about it!!
I
went to see the doctor, and he was thoroughly impressed with how
detailed I was in my lists. I had my weight for each morning (same
clothes), and also had on there that I had a 7lb bag of brown sugar as
a constant so that I could be sure that my scale was working properly.
I had all that I had eaten for the last week broken down by days and
meals, including drinks. I had a list of symptoms that I'd been
experiencing, even if I'd had the symptoms for years (insomnia,
vertigo, headaches, etc. I've dealt with them all forever). He was
happy that even though I was not YET underweight, I was smart enough to
come in before I got to that point.
He tried to talk to me
like I was an idiot, so I had to level with him. I told him that
putting it out in Layman's terms just generally irritates me..so talk
to me like I'm a nurse or a fellow doctor. I don't want this,
"Well...the pituitary gland is a gland that secretes hormones..."
Yeah, I got that. So after I told him to quit talking to me like I was
an idiot....he kind of laughed and said, "Well most people don't
understand...." I do. Simple as that. So, he explained that his
first theory is that I have hyperthyroidism. I told him that's exactly
what I was lead to believing, but wanted the testing to be sure.
Nothing else really 'fits' as I really haven't been anywhere or exposed
myself to getting any form of parasite.
I went to get my labs drawn, paid a bit on our Dr. bill and went home.
Get a call an hour or so later and....................everything is normal. No thyroid problem.
So,
for the next 7-10 days I have to write down my weight every
morning...like I have been doing. I also have to have a detailed
account of everything that I eat and drink - and then I have to convert
it all into calories. It's probably going to be hard to do since most
of our foods are homemade, but whatever. If I keep losing a pound
every day, something is wrong and I need to figure out what it is.
Where's House? Seriously.
