We took in two sweet little boy kittens, brothers, who were found in a local feed mill parking lot. Little did my family know just how much expense would go into taking care of our newest strays.
Since we took in Sammy and Hain, we have had to treat them for ringworm, ear mites, upper respiratory infection, and now tape worms. All four of us managed to get ringworm from the kittens, so that was 4 co-pays for us at the doctor, as well as the medicine for us.
Now, I think my 2 year old has gotten tape worms. I try to keep her away from the litter box, but she manages to get to it whenever she is in the kitchen and my back is turned. She tries to scoop it, or drops a toy in it and takes it back out, or fishes a cat toy out of it to play with the kittens... UGH! I can't get to her fast enough to keep her away from it, or to keep her hands away from her face. She's a thumb sucker :P
I took her to the doctor yesterday, and they sent me to the lab to get a stool sample. Well, you can't just get poop from a two year old on demand (wouldn't that be nice? Just make them poop over the toilet when it was convenient!) I had to take home a little red hazmat container in a hazmat baggie, and wait for nature to take it's course. Since it is the weekend, I have tot wait until monday for the lab to be open to give them her "offering." So, now I have a hazmat tub of poop in my fridge, which will be there for the next 2 days. It is currently hidden in the back, on a high shelf.
I am afraid to contemplate what could be next on the grossness scale.
Comments:
Ewwwww, I would have waited to get another sample closer to the first of the week. At least it wouldn't be in the fridge as long. Good luck! And try not to think about it being in there, if you can.
Oh that sucks. Sorry to hear your plight. I can't say I have been privy to keeping poop in the fridge so I have no advice for this. Good luck with that!!

A Boy with Autonomic Dysfunction - The Miller Family
Our Special Life
Oliver was born after having suffered a stroke while in his mother's womb. The resulting brain injury is called Dysautonomia (Autonomic Dysfunction). His doctors believe the stroke was the result of the miscarriage of his twin. Oliver is completely blind and his underdeveloped brain stem makes basic physical functions a challenge. In spite of all this, he is a happy, go-lucky, 12-year-old boy, and his mom wants people to meet the real Oliver, not just his medical hardships.
