So I met with an awesome fellow cafemomer this past weekend (thanks skylersmamarama!) to try to learn how to knit. I have croched (in the past) but never attempted knitting although the desire to learn has been driving me nuts and building the last few years.

We met at a local library where a knitting club meets monthly and joined in. I learned casting on, knitting and purling (not sure how spelled). I left, purchased some bamboo yarn, took it home, pulled out my bamboo knitting needles and SHAZAM!! I made a washcloth! Now granted, it is a little crooked and the pattern is due to confusion and wasn't intentional (but looks sweet) but it is made with TLC and is my first finished product!

There were two problems. The first was the tiny size which ended up not being a problem because dd thought it was cute and perfect! The second was the fact that once I had it at a stopping point, I had no clue how to get it off the needle! Luckily I remembered the term "casting off". TGFG (thank God for google!) Looked it up, cast off, and this is what I have!

Yeah me!!!

YAY! I can't figure out how to purl yet, hahaha!! That's the magic of circular needles-it looks like a stockinette stitch just by making knit stitch after knit stitch!

Good job girl~! I really want to learn how to knit as well...but I am afraid that I will never find anyone patient enough to teach me! lol The friend that taught me how to crochet really had her work cut out for her! I DREAMED about the dang yarn and how it should move in and out of my fingers before I FINALLY got it! I love to crochet...maybe I will just stick with that! I love your little wash cloth...what's the saying??  Size doesn't matter? It's the motion of the...oh wait...maybe that doesn't apply here! LMAO
