My son is pitching the biggest fit today! UGHHHH! I just want to scream and runaway. I am determined to win this battle, becuase he would never act like this with is father (who happens to be at work right now). We are currently at the end of round 2. I am exhausted. Being achey from being 33 weeks pregnant doesn't help either.
DH is working 2 jobs right now, so we only get to see him for about 2 hours at lunch time. I am already behind on my school work because I just can not focus on school while ds is awake, but then I fall asleep before I even get started when he is in bed. I am going to have to set the alarm clock so that I can get up early to get it done. Why is parenting so hard sometimes? I am so run down! I would have a bowl of ice cream about now, but I am borderline Gestational Diabetes so ice cream is out of the question. Maybe I will fix a cup of tea. I tried to avoid caffiene while pregnant, but I think this could be an exception.
Comments:
THanks so much, Christy! We are doing better now. I am drinking a cup of unsweetened tea and it is relaxing! DS patted me on the shoulder and said "its okay little mommy". He then gave me a hug and a kiss. Amazing how a hug and kiss can wipe away all the stress! I love my little boy. sigh...
Oh, it's the little one....I thought maybe it was the 18 yr old step-son. Our nearly 18 yr old is driving me nuts.
Yeah, I'm with Christy...it tough at times. I think it is tough more often than not!! I'm sure the hormones and such don't help.
glad you got a chance to relax with some tea...and yeah, a hug and a kiss help loads.
You're welcome. :) We're here to support each other, especially through the rough patches! And Sherral's right - it's often more rough than smooth.
We're dealing with a phase right now with Ben. I'm calling it the "Daddy Only" phase. Not that Ben wants only him, but that Ben only listens to Daddy. I'll say "Ben, it's time to get ready for bed." No reaction. Daddy says "Ben, your mother said it's time for bed. Get going." Ben jumps up and heads to the bedroom. *sigh* It's really bad when I need to give Ben a time out. He'll literally scream for daddy. Where he got the idea that Daddy will rescue him none of us can figure out - DH and I are absolute on always backing the other's discipline no matter what. What's hilarious, though, is if DH puts Ben in time out, Ben STILL screams for daddy. Oh, the twisted, unexplainable minds of two-year-olds!
I'm glad your little one came back with a hug and kiss. A little lovin' can fix almost anything!

A cup of tea won't do you any harm at this point.
Parenting is hard at times. Honestly, I think it's the hardest job I have ever done! Don't back down, though, and DS will adapt to not having dad around as much.
I'm praying for you!!!
