If you have a need to eat something really healthy that tastes horribly unhealthy...
I just made some applesauce. I don't know how you're really supposed to make it, I just decided to make some for Kylen and threw stuff together. I went to freeze it into cubes, but by the time I'd licked the spoon, I had to take it out so that Asher and I could share it, too. I threw some oats in for us, and it was almost like apple cobbler (my fav), then later I finished off the bowl feeling like I was eating apple pie filling from Pizza Hut or McDonalds or something. Poor Nate, I couldn't save any for him. I also made Asher a peanut butter and applesauce sandwich with it.
So I'm sure everyone else probably already knows this recipe, and it's nothing special, but I couldn't believe how good it was. And easy, 'cause I'm lazy.
5 apples, peeled and chopped (really fine for babies, chunkier for everyone else)
can of frozen apple juice
cinnamon - lots! (or to taste...)
nutmeg - lots! (or to taste...)
I just tossed it all together in a pot, put the stove on medium, stirred it a couple times, put a lid on at first (the lid didn't fit and I ended up taking it off later) and left it for half an hour or so while I took care of the kids, came back, mashed it with a fork so it was chunky but Kai could eat it, and
yummmmmmmmmmmmm
