Fun stuff on the way home from the birthday party...

We did the suprise party for Zack's 10th birthday. It was great!!! He didn't have a clue. Me, hubby, Zack and the girls all got in the car with the plan that the girls were going to play at a friends house while we ran errands and picked up his friend to spend the night.

So we dropped the girls off, picked up the buddy and went to the karate school (where the party was located). Zack asked why we were there and we told him we had to pay a bill and said to get out of the car. He went inside where the owner/instructor told him he was going to yank his belt cuz he wasn't happy with his performance at the last class. Zack just stood there. Then the instructor says "Just kidding, happy birthday!"

So once it hit, and he realized it was a party for him, we all had a great time, including the adults. They did all kinds of activities and the kids that were there who aren't already in class with Zack left wanting to join. They were all given 2 weeks free. It was a lot of fun! At one point we were all laughing so hard we just about had tears running down our faces. :)

On the way home we had just dropped off one party goer and picked up the girls. We went around a corner and saw smoke billowing out from under the hood of this car on the side of the road. We saw a couple flames peek out so we pulled over and called 911 for the guys who the car belonged to. They didn't have a phone on them. We stayed until after the fire was out.

I just got a new cell phone last week that I can take videos on so I got these two of what was very exciting for the kids:

wow~ excitement is right! how crazy is that! I'm sure the kids were wowed!
happy birthday Zack! glad the surprise was a success, the party was fun, and you laughed hard enough for tears~ that's some good laughing! =)

That's so cool.  Its such a good feeling when you can surprise your kids and make them so happy.

yeah for surprise birthdays!! ;D sounds like he had a blast!

and what's a fabulous birthday without fireworks...er, fire!  dang, glad ya'll were there to help them.  the same exact thing happend to me when i had a little maxima...went over a neighborhood speedbump and flames started shooting out....the bad thing was i had beautiful pots and pans in there that i had no time to get out.  :(   yeah, don't ask how those got in there, lol!

So glad the party turned out great! He will remember it.

And awesome that you got to be a good samaritan. I hope no one was hurt.
