Socks, socks socks!!!! With six people in the house there is an insurmountable load (pun intended) of laundry. Winter is so much worse due to all the big, bulky clothes and the wearing of layers! Above all else, it never ceases to amaze me the number of socks I see in the hamper at all times. Sheesh! How can we have so many socks? Then it occurred to me.
There are six of us in the house. Every day we each wear a pair of socks (more if they get wet, muddy, etc...). That means a minimum of 12 socks in the hamper PER DAY!!!!! Minimum! In two days, that's two dozen. If I waited a week to do the laundry (which could never happen unless I don't mind a mountain building up in the basement) that would be 84 socks waiting for me to wash, dry, sort, fold. Annually that is 4,368 socks! Aaaaaaaaaah! Thank God for summer and sandals! Too bad there are only a few of us in the house willing to wear them.
For now, I have to get back to my laundry. Just something to think about!
lol- YIKES- I"ve never thought of this in terms of the numbers! I, too, HATE winter laundry- it's too bulky and just takes too much to do- too many loads- too much bulk- too much time in the dryer- too many socks!!!
lol, that was great! I hate them too, so much we now have a sock basket. you must dig and find them on your own lol
i soooo feel your pain girl! I have the same as you....3 boys and 1 girl...and I think my hubby should count as TWO! I hate socks too! I put initials on the bottoms of socks with a sharpie to help sort quicker...it doesn't work. It WOULD work if the boys would hook them together like I say over and over...or if they would just get BOTH of them to the laundry pile....sigh...laundry...as I write this I have a few loads to fold (my least favorite task on earth) one load drying, and one load waiting to switch...but I wouldn't have it any other way...would you? ;0)

I hate socks. With a passion. They are the BANE to my very existence. I actually was just piling them into a hamper after they were clean. Well.....around Christmas I was SO fed up with the sock pile I threw them all away and bought new ones. I am such a freak.
