the artist Andrew Wyeth just passed away.  he is famous for Christina's world painting.

he lived near us, like the obituary our paper just ran has mentioned, he never ventured far from home and his painting subjects were local.  anyone could see him walking brandywine trails like the rest of us or eating at Hank's Place, a small local diner.  And, yes, his paintings really depict the look and feel of the places he inhabits.

My dad, an amateur painter, thinks Andrew was the greatest.  My uncle, a professional painter who just passed away in Dayton OH, really respected the work.  Even my son took some classes at the Brandywine Museum where all the Wyeth family displays.  the program was great, the Wyeth paint so literally   (except Caroline Wyeth, my personal favorite)    that they were an excellent people to teach the young.  if you are into this artist or his family and are in Chadds Ford area, well worth the trip.

He lived a good long life, like his dad N.C. Wyeth, so it is sad but .....the work is major and enduring.......((((and psst while I am here, Caroline Wyeth is the non literal painter, google her images, she rocks!!!!!))))))
