Every time I turn on my tv, open a paper, or go to search engine I'm inundated with Obama parafinilla. I'm ill watching the droves of people worship this man. It's not only because I don't agree with his politics, it's because I see those crowds and I see sheep. I see people who don't think freely. I see people whom are blind to the real issues. This discontent is both political and philosophical. I see people that are preserving inequality. I believe the way we are handling this situation ( first "black" president) furthers inequality and racism. It proves the people of this country and world are not yet ready to take the steps necessary to genuinely have our civil liberties and individual freedom. We can not have true equality until we stop viewing people as belonging in groups but view them as individuals. To swoon over someone purely based on race, or seeing it as a victory of a certain group in reality is perpetuating inequality. This is a hard concept to grasp for those who truly believe that all of this hype is necessary, because his skin happens to be a different color. Yes, if his skin were another color there would be excitement. While I do not agree with his politics he is very charismatic man. However, it would not be to this extent. Situations like this just prove we are as far as ever from having true equality. It sincerely brings me sorrow that some people still, and always will be remember first for the color of their skin and secondly for the achievements they made in their life. We must eradicate collectivism in our minds and society if we legitimately want end inequality.
