I don't know what to do. I'm at a loss here. I am physically exhausted all the time because I'm not getting sleep at night. My 3yr old fights me on bed time every night, and when I finally get him to sleep and I'm ready to go to bed my 13.5m old wakes back up. So, I get him some water in hopes he will go back to sleep (warm water). NOPE, I have to rock him for the longest time, or get him some milk and let him drink it sitting up in his bed and then he might fall back asleep. So by the time he is asleep again its 10pm and I'm finally getting to bed. Well, now its 3am and guess what IM UP!!! Why? Because my 13.5m old decides he wants more to drink. I give him water and he wants more and more and more......or he just wants up to play. I'm at my parents house right now visiting until the mid/end of feb. I would love to let Curtis CIO at this point because he needs to learn he cant be up all night, but I cant. My parents dont like to be woke up by the baby, and complain when I let him cry. They tell me "Dont let him have a bottle at 3am, but dont let him cry either. He has slept 6hrs by now, so he needs to play". NO HE DOESNT. So, to make everyone happy I'm up at 3am w/ my little one and I'm tired and grouchy because I just went to bed. By the time he settles back down around 6:30am his big brother is up and ready for the day again. So, I'm up from 3am-10pm every day (19hrs at least). My 3yr old doesnt nap at all, so no nap time for mommy. I'm super tired, and I'm wishing one day I could get some sleep. I dont know how to help my 13.5m old sleep through the night. OH and I forgot to mention he HAS to sleep in my room because that is the only place my parents want him...in a play pen in MY ROOM. I'm thinking that I might try a pacifier and see if its the sucking he is wanting. I havent given him a pacifier since he was like 1m old, so I am not sure he will take to it, but I dont know what else to do. I'm just ready to get some sleep and not feel like the walking dead wanting to cry at the drop of a hat because I'm stressed out.

Is this something new? Has he ever slept through the night? Has something changed recently? a move..dad suddenly not there? Environmental changes can affect a baby's sleep. My youngest son never slept through the night untill he was 6 years old, and the first time he did that was becausse he had strep, bronchitis, and a double ear infection all at the same time. He is multiply disabled and his with his disabilities he had night terrors a lot and would also wake up and want to play or watch TV. Thankfully the night terrors have finaly died down to one or two a month instead of nightly. We alo discovered the miricals of melatonin but I think your little one is too small for that. We don't give it to him nightly but if he seems to be having trouble falling asleep we do because that means he will be waking up later. He also has a weighted blanket now that works wonders. Good luck to you on the sleep issue!
