our trip to shriners

I'm trying to upload pics now, lets see if it work(new computer).  So...

We went to Shriner's earlier in the week and the whole trip was great!!!! First I told the lady at the counter I need a wheelchair, and not only did they bring me one, but the dude pushed it for me AND carried some of my bags!!! I'm not a frequent flyer, so while this is probably typical I thought it was great!! We also got to board before everyone else, which is also really nice:D My MILs boss is a member of this really cool club, and he got us a room there.  Almost as soon as we got there we went for a walk around neighborhood.  Beautiful neighborhood! I took lots of pics....

After getting back to our room I had the great opportunity to have dinner with a great friend from Cafemom! It was awesome!

The next day was our actual day at Shriner's.  First they took x-rays of her hips, they are perfect! So I was elated when I heard that.  Then we had a "gait lab" where they put markers on her and had her walk up and down a path and filmed her, then they put in a computer program. they are going to send me several copies, this took 2 hrs.  After which we saw the Dr, and I got more "good" news! they are going to schedule her for a heel cord lengthening on both ankles.  It could take several months to get in though, but that's OK, its a step in a proactive direction! here's a pic of her with all the markers on...

Sort of "OT" but since I'm talking about Victoria I thought I'd add it here.  Victoria gets therapy several times a week at United Cerebral Palsy(UCP).  They approached us about her being an ambassador for UCP! She would attend public funtions and represent UCP while educating the public! I hope she gets to do it, as I've been itching to start advocating again and this would be perfect!!

Aww WOW!  Hope she gets to be ambassodor too.  What Shriners did you take her to?  We go to the on in Tampa well since we live in Florida.  Just courious.  Jenny

Those pictures are beautiful! That is so awesome about the good news and I'll be crossing my fingers that she gets to be an ambassador!!!! I couldn't be more excited for you all, who are truly deserving!!!
