I went to my 35 week appointment today. I am measuring big (as always), but Dr. Vargas believes that the baby is now 7.5 pounds. She scheduled me for an ultrasound for next week to verify the baby's weight. Our goal is to keep the baby under 10 pounds at birth. My first baby was 9.3 pounds, so I grow big babies naturally.
My blood sugar is really good in the 70's so diabetes is no longer a factor (although my blook sugar will still be checked each week). I think that I was borderline Gestational Diabetes because I was sick and popping cough drops like crazy, under a lot of stress from school and visiting family. However, after that semester ended, I got over my illness and family went home, I have been relatively stress free and my blood sugar has reflected that.
My varicose vein is considered "normal" although very uncomfortable. Dr said to relieve it with cold compresses and make sure I get plenty of rest. But, unfortunately that is all that can be done. She said that it will not have an affect on the delivery and to try and not worry about it.

Overall a good report...Praise God! You'll be in my prayers about the baby's weight though- Wow! My son was only 6lbs. 10oz so anything above that seems huge to me!! Good that the Gest. diabetes is not an issue any longer- Hang in there not much longer now!! How exciting!! Take care and God bless you!
