(and a Mom!)
Born: Malachi O'Mari Broggin
Gave Birth: Laura-Ann Elizabeth Broggin
Date: September 28, 2008 (Yes, it took Laura-Ann months to get around to ordering announcements. So sue her.)
Weight: Baby's: 6 pounds 5 ounces Mom's: Lets see: She's eating 500 extra calories a day for breastfeeding, plus half a pound of chocolate to stay awake, plus all the lasagna her friends can cook. You do the math.
Eyes: Baby's: Blue Mom's: Bloodshot
Hair: Baby's: Brown Mom's: Unwashed since last Tuesday and falling out by the handful.
Length: Practically forever- at least 11 hours of labor, plus 10 minutes of pushing. And that's not counting those 2 visits to the hospital the week before, when Laura-Ann thought she was in labor but it was really just Braxton-Hicks contractions; or the hour after the baby came out, when her midwife kept doing things down there that are best not thought about..........Oh, and the baby was 19 inches

A Boy with Autonomic Dysfunction - The Miller Family
Our Special Life
Oliver was born after having suffered a stroke while in his mother's womb. The resulting brain injury is called Dysautonomia (Autonomic Dysfunction). His doctors believe the stroke was the result of the miscarriage of his twin. Oliver is completely blind and his underdeveloped brain stem makes basic physical functions a challenge. In spite of all this, he is a happy, go-lucky, 12-year-old boy, and his mom wants people to meet the real Oliver, not just his medical hardships.
