The weather is going to super crap here.  They have been talking about it, and it's happening right now.  The roads look okay, really you look at them and think "they're fine" but then when you go to turn or use your brakes....you learn they are anything but OK.  The trees are staring to coat with a bit of ice too.  I am going into panic mode, more so than I have been.  I have 4 cases of bottled water, 1 cord of firewood, and an aresenal of canned foods.  Ever since 2007 when we were forced to camp in our living room for 2 weeks because of an ice storm, we had no electricity for 2 weeks-which translates to no heat, no cooking equipment, no fridge/freezer, no lights, no phone, no tv, no INTERNET!!!  Maybe I am going into super panic mode for no reason.....but after 2007.....who can blame me????????  So if you think I'm nuts, you better have more evidence than these little panic attacks of mine to back yourself up!  Trust me the evidence is out there and everywhere....I am nuts....but this is not why!

We have an inch of crap on the ground right now, no snow, all ice sleet and freezing rain.  But we do still have all the luxeries.  We are expecting between another inch or 2 of this crap today-no snow but sleet or freezing rain.  We are also down a car.  Jesse (my step son) wrecked the Lincoln last night on his way to work.  Tim and I still haven't seen it yet, but he says the bumper is messed up, one of the mirrors has been knocked off, and it needs a new tire.  He went to change lanes and the car decided to go off the road.  So no one was hurt, which is good.  (I was seriously hoping when I heard he had wrecked it, that someone had rear ended him, bad enough for the car the be totaled-I HATE that car!)

But here is a pic from out my front door.

Second Update:  It's late in the afternoon still sleeting.  Jesse got the tired changed on the car and brought it home, here are his accomplishments.

Bumper Pic 2

The new trick he taught the mirror.

If you beleive that breaking a mirror is bad luck....well he's screwed!

Tom likes to remind me that "you may be paranoid but you may also be right"!

When I lived in the sticks we had no water with no power.  Thankfully that usually meant the creek was up and we could at least fill buckets to flush the toilet.  We filled the tub and ptichers ahead of time for drinking water.

You are SMART!

I think you're right to be concerned.  I'm here in Cali and I worry all the time about the earthquakes!

Well.. I'm going to call you a bit paranoid. lol.. it's been snowing for HOURS here in MO and there's about 2 inches on our cars. I'm still able to drive though.. and even last year when we had our bad ice storm (3 inches of SOLID ice) road crews were out all night and we were able to get to the store! :P
