So we had an ice storm yesterday. The power went off around 9:30am. I am not a survivor. I like my electric, my heat, my microwave, my lights, my tv. Well, sometimes we have to ruff it. So, luckily we had a heater that runs off of propane tanks and can be used indoors. It is called the Big Buddy Heater made my Mr. Heater. We put this thing in our bedroom, put up a sheet and it kept our bedroom warm for 6 hours on low and I never had to change the tanks. Thank God for this.
But anyway, Tim left for work so it was just me and Luke. We stayed in the bedroom all day to keep warm. Luke was not happy about the fact that he had to take his bottles cold nor was he happy that he had to wait for me to warm them up by the hot water (gas hot water tank is especially nice). We took a nap and then we snacked and played with his toys. I also read aloud to him the last few chapters of "The Christmas Sweater" by Glen Beck. When Tim got home Luke and I were both bored out of our minds. Luke may be young but he didn't understand why he was in the bedroom all day and he didn't care why he just knew he didn't like it.
The electric came on around 3:30pm. Not drastic but enough to annoy me. Tim was disappointed that it came back on because he is survival obsessed and wanted to "protect" his family. He can prove his survival skills to me on another day, I will take his word for it. My heart goes out to all those who are out of power now and who may not get it back on till February. I will be thinking of you guys and hoping and praying that they get it on for you sooner than that.
