I am still in shock and keep thinking about the moment. Last night, I stopped by the grocery store after work to pick up some dinner. I was leaving the parking lot and slowed down to turn onto the street. All of a sudden, a guy comes running to me and tries to open my door. He is yelling at the top of his lungs to stop and that I needed to help him. I heard the word help so my first instinct was to see if he was okay. A split second later, I was like who the hell is he? I am not putting myself in danger so I started to accelerate but couldn't go too fast because the light was still red and cars were still pulling up to stop at the light. He let go of the handle and ran around the front of my car. I hit him with the car and he still was able to get to the passenger side to try and open the door. I realized that I was in a lot of danger so I just stepped on the gas and manuevered through the cars to get away from him. He was STILL trying to hold on and was yelling at me the whole time. He finally let go and as I looked back I saw another guy running in back of him with a gun. I was so scared and was afraid that the they would try to approach me at the light but just prayed that the other cars would be a deterent to them. It seemed like a million years before the light turned green. Once it did, I looked back and saw about 10 cop cars speeding toward the parking lot and the ghetto bird (police helicopter) fly overhead. I am guessing that the cops were already after them and they were going to use my car as the getaway car. I am just so lucky to have gotten out of the situation alive and safe.

The baby and I are okay. I had some cramping last night everytime I thought about what happened. I had to tell myself to relax but it was so hard thinking about all of the what ifs. What if his friend made it to the car and tried to shoot me? What if the guy got in the passenger side and made me drive him? I am just so glad that I made it home to hold my daughter and see my family again. I learned a valuable lesson. I am going to make sure to lock my doors whenever I get in the car. I never did that before because I didn't think it was something I had to do. Please ladies, lock your doors everytime you get in the car. If I hadn't tried to drive off, he would have been able to hop right in since my doors were unlocked. Thanks for reading this. I need to clear my head so I am off to take G to the aquarium. One more thing, can you ladies please mark as popular to spread the word to remember to lock your doors when you get in the car if you don't. It is crazy out there!

Sweetie, you dii all the right things, you are fine, you used your brain right to assess the situation and are safe now. Plus think about it as a new lesson and shared to warn others, just breathe, I am happy you are ok and baby is fine.

Love, Bea

OMG ...that is super scary. I can't imagine! Glad you made it away safe. That had to have been it...they were going to use your car as the getaway vehicle. Glad the cops caught up with them! We will always lock our doors when we get in. We only do it half the time. You just never know.

I'm glad you and the baby are okay. I saw a situation like that not to long ago. I am glad they didn't try and steal my bf car b/c my son and I was in the back. We pulled up to a gas station in Augusta, Ga and we saw this guy drive off cool and collective with this other guy ford explorer we didn't know what was going on though. We just saw a guy runnin after it and he ran to my bf talking about let me hold your car my bf was like it don't have gas in it he said fill it up I will pay you. We thought were about to fight but come to find out a car was stolen. So I told my bf he needed to hurry and get gas and get the hell from up there. I don't like that my bf have a older car and you have to lock the doors  yourself so I am trying to look for me a car. Thanks for the post when I go up there I lock my doors almost all the time I need to remember to do it all the time.

Sorry that happened to you! You should have called the police and told them...maybe they could have gotten the guy for attempted carjacking too.
