I have been a little reluctant to write this post because I have to be honest. I was not satisfied with my second shopping trip. I feel guilty to write a bad review since it was go gracious to give me this card to shop with! But I believe that they are seeking honest opinions and I hope my post will be helpful!

I was so excited to get my second gift card and I went out right away. I got my two toyoung boys all bundled up and we headed out to walmart! I was shopping for my 9 month old son who is currently in 18 month old clothes. I also brought my two year old along. I have to say we didn't get far! I came into the building to find they didn't have a single cart that would accommodate my family. The only cart that had for multiple children was meant for two and older. So I decided to put my younger son in the seat of the single cart and allow my older son to sit in the grocery area of the cart. Dangerous, inconvenient and not a good idea! We only lasted about 5 minutes before I knew it was not going to work out. There was no room to put anything in the cart and my two year old didn't want to stay seated. So I bundled them back up and went home.

I decided on another plan several days later. Dad works all day so we thought a light night trip may work better. We put the boys to sleep and he stayed home. I headed out around 9pm by myself. It was nice to have a lot of time to look and I really appreciate the fact that walmart is 24 hours! I hit the baby section and I was pretty disappointed with the selection. It seems Jonah is at a strange size. I wish there was a 9-12 month in the baby section. But for the most part it stops at 9months.

So I bounced back and forth between the toddler and baby section before I decided to just focus my time in the d section. Things were rather scattered about. When I found something I liked I was disappointed when I couldn't find his size. The Granimal stuff is...affordable. But I don't think its something I would purchase of my own will. It is great around the house clothes. I did like some of the Wrangler brand they had. But it didn't have a big selection...so more of that would be great! I did find the cutest pair of toddler soft shoes...but was again disappointed when I got to the cash register (will explain shortly).

I spent about an hour shopping and made my way to the register. I didn't see any registers with lights on (do they even use the lights?). I had maybe three lines to pick from and they were all pretty long. I was standing in line for about 3-4 minutes when the cashier sent a message back to me, through the other customers to tell me she was closed......thanks. So I went to another line. Got up to check out. The lady was ringing up my items. THREE items had no tag on them. One being the pair of shoes that I absolutely loved!!! So she picked up the items and instead of paging someone to check the price.....she just told me I couldn't buy them!!!! She took them and put them up on her register and basically told me sorry about my luck! I expressed obvious disappointment about the shoes...but still no effort. I do understand, maybe they don't have as many staff working at night. But I felt like I was being punished for shopping at night, when I was unable to shop during the day because I had more then one child!

That was my shopping experience. The clothes I purchased are ok. A couple of the shirts I think are adorable, mostly the Wrangler brand. One of the granimal shirts already has a hole in after only two uses and the zipper on a jacket I bought does not zip properly.

I will update this post very soon with my detailed list of what I purchased. I will also my picture that I took!

Once again, I do want to thank cafemom and walmart for this opportunity. I was really honered to be chosen. I hope my post was not out of line. I just wanted to be truthful about my shopping experience!

I cannot believe she told you that you could not purchase an item.  That stuns me.  Sorry mama!

I pretty much never have a good experiance at wal mart. I too have a baby and toddler and they dont offer shopping carts with more then 1 seat, and our carts are old school and SUPER small! Everyone there is rude and doesnt know a thing. I've just stopped shopping there, which is a bummer for them! I used to spend a good $200/week there and now I just do it at Safeway. Sorry you had such a bad experiance!

Jan. 30, 2009 at 5:41 PM Unfortunately that's always been my experience at WalMart. I have much better luck at Target and I think they're clothes are cuter with a better selection of sizes. But good for you for being honest. I'm sure they appreciate the feedback.

That is crazy that the cashier wouldn't let you buy those items!! I used to work at Wal-Mart as a cashier/customer service associate and we would never be allowed to get away with doing something like that!! I think Wal-Mart is going downhill lately...I haven't worked there since 2005, but man, they used to be all about customer service (at least at my store) and now it seems like they could care less and only care about money and saving their butts. I would complain to a manager if I were you. That's horrible! I also don't understand why everywhere else has at least a few double carts and Wal-Mart- the biggest retailer anywhere- doesn't! I'm sorry about your experience Angi, that's a bunch of crap! Unfortunately, that seems to be the way they are anymore...

Mar. 18, 2009 at 12:34 PM Ya Annika is also in 12-18m clothing and I can hardly ever find anything for her in the baby section. I usually just stick to buying baby food there and that's pretty much it. I go elsewhere for clothing.
