For those of you who do not know, I am very involved with ICAN of Connecticut (The International Cesarean Awareness Network) and every April, across the world, we celebrate Cesarean Awareness Month.
Last April, ICAN of Connecticut submitted a proclamation to our governors office, which was denied under the reasoning that the topic of Cesarean Awareness is "too controversial" of an issue for our governor to get involved with.
Governor M. Jodi Rell of Connecticut has been waste deep in controversial issues such as Plan B OTC, Civil Unions, Gay Marriage, and hot button issues of that nature.  But for a simple health crisis, she could not get involved.

Connecticut holds a 34.1% cesarean rate as of 2006 (most recently reported CDC statistic) and that makes us the state with the 7th highest c-section rate in the country!

Please help us out by signing our petition to have Cesarean Awareness Month recognised this April!
