I went to my appointment and it seems like we are still on schedule to have a March baby. The ultrasound measurements indicate that the baby is approximately 7 pounds 4 oz. Which means (given the stardard of error) that the baby will be somewhere in the range of 7-9 pounds which is comletely normal. So far I have not dialated and my cervix has not moved forward yet. The Dr's exact words wre "your cervix is still in the stratosphere"! LOL!
That sort of makes me nervous since my cervix never moved with Joseph and I didn't dialate at all and ended up with a c-section. The Dr. said that they would not induce me using any cervical stimulant because it increases the risk of a uterine rupture. He also said that my skin infections were probably due to the fact that I was induced for over a 48 hour period which, while I may not have noticed it, was a stressful event to my body. This may have made my immunity lower and could have exacerbated the c-section.
We will play it by ear to see if I go into labor or if I will need a c-section. I do pray that I can VBAC simply for the reason of a quicker recovery. I have a 2.5 year old that is a handfull as it is already.
