My NEW 25 things about me (from facebook)

1. It is easy for me to list 25 things about myself because as we all learned in our early childhood classes we like to talk about ourselves and be the center of attention and adoration... that's why we became teachers - right girls? ;)

2. I believe there is only ONE way to heaven/eternity in the presence of God - and that is through Jesus and I believe that everyone who believes other wise is being told "Trueish" lies by the master of deception.

3. I like being different.

4. My biggest goals for Oliver (besides leading him toward a relationship with Christ of course) is that he will think critically -- which for me entails his thoughts/actions/opinions being valued by us, him having an understanding about the world though experience (like how to grow things), and him experiencing other cultures (in any way)

5. I'm an attachment parenting mom in every way. (www.api.com)

6. I discovered a new love for really long dresses - I believe the "couture" name for it is a maxi dress (eww)

7. I love to cook for people and have them over to my house

8. I (and Oliver by default) am a volunteer for the International Rescue Committee

9. I'm a night person, and so is Barrett and Oliver… we stay up late and sleep until 10:30 (or later… gasp)

10. I love every single episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch

11. We use natural health in our house

12. I have major self-image issues

13. I hate it when parents talk in third person to their kids and I have NEVER met one that hasn't

14. I love the ridiculous exhaustion that comes with international travel

15. I don't just "eat natural" but I eat WHOLE foods, no cans, no frozen stuff, no stuff for the microwave - (we don't even HAVE one)… all from scratch and fresh - very very little meat and I have discovered the best and most flavorful recipes in my life

16. I wish people would listen to me about eating healthy - it isn't a fad, its about understanding where your food comes from and making yourself a responsible part of that (which plays into taking care of yourself, critical thinking - where are you Isaiah on this one??!!, and its about lifelong learning - see #4)

17. I'm human and I indulge in brownies and cheesecake

18. I don't celebrate Halloween

19. My favorite thing to listen to is "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" on NPR

20. I have a crush on the old 70s cartoon character Robin Hood (he *is* a fox)

21. I can't donate blood either (stole that one from Jana) - because I've had Malaria.

22. I'm going to home school Oliver

23. I hate getting in the shower but love it once I'm there

24. I like to make stuff out of crap which often leads to me dragging things out of the alley or buying 90 percent off items at the dollar store

25. I secretly enjoy it when my son is sick so I can cuddle and kiss on him all I want, he isn't a cuddler usually.
