So Jadzia had her diagnostic appointment today. He looked her over read the very extensive history and journal I had written as well as all her charts and labs. He said I was one of the most thorough moms he'd seen and I was all that's because I'm starting to get a little desperate to find what's wrong with my baby. He said it would really help so I hope it does. He ran some more blood tests all of which will be back either tomorrow or Monday. The one other test will be back in about a week because it had to be sent off to Mayo. He's going to give me a call either tomorrow or Monday with what he thinks a good plan is for her. He really didn't give me much of what he thought it was. I'm a little discouraged because I'm afraid he won't find anything either.
I know I shouldn't be pessimistic but it's hard at this point to watch her drop weight, turn blue, have a distended belly that now seems painful, along with painful rashes and a whole lot of other issues and no one knows anything. Why isn't my baby growing; why is everything going on with her? If he comes back with nothing I'm at a loss. I'm leaning more towards the idea that she has a digestive disorder such as Celiac disease. They have not sent her to a GI specialist yet but I'm not sure I can get my pediatrician to give me the referral because even before the diagnostic appointment she was starting to seem cold to her case. So if the diagnostic doctor comes back with nothing I doubt she will help me anymore.
According to her it's all a virus and now she's better. Yeah, right she's better. So in the end I think I'm going to have to go pediatrician hunting. I do have one I've liked in the past that my kids saw a couple of times when there current pediatrician was away so I thought I might try her if I can't get the GI referral from her current Dr. And keep looking until I find one that will.
Comments:
You need to find a new doctor. I work in the medical field and some doctors feel like if they can't find something wrong, it doesn't exist. Others will realize their limits and send you to a different doctor for a second opinion.
