I wanted to share ways to cut expenses in this economy and it could help the Environment as well.  I know times are tough and a lot of people don't want to cut out the Internet or cut their cable down to basic or cut it out all together and a lot of people might say to get rid of the extras that you don't need, well if you are like me, you might not want to cut out the extras. LOL!  So, here are some other ways to save on money without cutting out the extras or depriving your family of luxury and if you have anything thing to add, please do!

1) Go to energy saving light bulbs-  they are kind of expensive, but well worth it and they have a lifespan of 5 years. You won't have to buy light bulbs as much, it is also cheaper to use a lamp then a light in a room.  Also, it is more expensive to have central heat and air, especially if you don't leave it on a certain temperature. Same with a window unit and it's cheaper to have energy saving window units and appliances.

2) When you leave a room or house or whatever you live in shut off everything in a room or at least most everything.

3) To save on water- it is a known fact that showers save on more water than baths and to limit your showers. Also, look in your home for leaks, running toilets and to make sure the water faucets etc is shut completely off and to limit washing clothes as well.

4) To save on phone bills- cut them out completely, go to cellphones or cut out your cellphones if possible or go to a cheaper cellphone program. On house phones, if you want one you can go to Vonage that are about $40.00 a month, depending where you live and what all features you have,  and they have specials as well and it consist of local and long distance, voicemail, call forwarding and transfer, call waiting and you can check everything online. You need the Internet and usually a cable modem though.  Or you can go to Skype, it's an Internet phone service and way cheaper than Vonage even, it has all the features of Vonage and it cost $2.95 a month or you can pay for 3 months or 12 months of service. That's Skype out where you can make calls, Skype-In you buy a phone number of your choice and people call you, I have Skype-Out and In and I pay about $20.00 for 3 months and with these phone services you need a checking account and you have to download Skype to have it.

4) Save on groceries- Buy budget strechers, things that would last a while and go far and feed a large family and that are cheap enough and more for the money.  Also, it helps to shop at cheaper stores and stores that have a lot of sells, rather than expensive stores.

5) When you buy clothes etc- try to find things on clearance and such!

6) To save on gas for your car-try to limit your trips if you can and try to do it all in one trip if possible.

7) Limit- limit your TV time, video games and such, anything that requires electricity.

8) Going out- Cut down on going out to eat or just cut out eating out all together or anything else that requires using money like movies, vacations, trips to places etc.

Anyway, these are ways I know to save money and such and if I can think of more I will add them to the list. A lot of people might know these tips, but, a lot of people don't.  I thought I would share anyway. I had to learn as I went. LOL!  I'm not trying to tell people what to do or how to live, I'm just trying to be helpful. Also, if everything else fails, you might have to cut out most if not all of the extras you don't need.  I hope my list helps and  was informative!
