COLDPLAY!?!? REALLY?!?!?

And it was announced, "Best Rock Album - Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends - Coldplay!"

What?!?!? COLDPLAY IS NOT A ROCK BAND! How did they ever end up in this category?

Coldplay is... Alternative at best. I'm not saying they don't write music well, I'm saying what they play belongs on an easy listening station. It is not ROCK music.

In addition, the following also do not belong in a Rock category:

1. Radiohead (no offense, I love Radiohead - but it's ALTERNATIVE music) Don't agree? Radiohead WON best Alternative Album!! So what are they doing in the Rock categories!? Isn't that double playing the field? Seems UNFAIR to those bands who stick to Rock full time. It's not like different Radiohead music was in each category - it was the SAME album in both places!!!

2. John Mayer - WTF!?!? He won WHAT!?!? Best Solo ROCK Performance? This guy is good at what he does - but what he does is write pantie-dropping college frat boy music. Not ROCK music. ARG!

3. I will possess your heart - Death Cab for Cutie  (now c'mon, the name even sounds wussy!) This is another band that was listed in both an Alternative and Rock category. They didn't win anything. Boo Hoo.

I am glad that Metallica won best Metal Performance, but they deserved more.

I hereby pledge to forevermore live a Grammy-Free life. They don't know crap.
