Daniel ran off....

This morning when I woke up. I didn't see lights on and the house was quiet. I figured Daniel was still sleeping. The baby was in the bed with me. I got up to let the dog out but couldn't find the dog, so I went to Daniel's room to see if the dog was in there and Daniel was GONE! I started calling his name and told him to answer me right now, because sometimes he likes to hide! He thinks its funny!! Well I went outside to see if he was in the front yard and he wasn't. So I came back inside and checked all his usual hiding spots and still no Daniel! I started running down the street calling his name, I thought maybe he headed to his little friends house down the road but they have lots of mean dogs so I was worried they might of gotten to him. When I turned the corner at the end of the street I saw an older man standing in someone elses yard with Daniel. The old man said he came outside and heard Daniel screaming. Daniel had crawled into this little swing at someone elses house and buckled himself in then turned the little playgym over, thats why he was screaming. The man helped him out and thought daniel lived at that house where the playgym was so he kept knocking on the door but no one answered there. Anyway, thank God Daniel is ok and a nice man found him instead of some psycho! I was so mad at him tho when I found him, he should know better! From now on the doors are getting locked with a key so he cant undo them.

OMG that would be soooo scary! I know how you feel tho, there was a couple times where I thought I lost damian and man I almost freaked out... Im glad that Daniel was safe.

Christian did that to me once at the apartment. I was in the shower for like 5 minutes and he unlocked the doors and ran outside. He wasn't outside for very long before I realized he was gone, but one of my neighbors called the cops on me. The cop came after I had already brought Christian back in. I was thinking my husband had been in an accident or something. I was so mad...I figured if the neighbor was really concerned she could have knocked on the door or something.& every one was telling me what a bad mom I was but I think it happens to most moms at least once. I hardly ever spank his butt but I gave him a good spanking for pulling that stunt. But anywas we have put those hotel style locks on our doors so high up that he cannot reach with chairs and we're about to get an alarm system installed that will beep everytime a door or window opens. I am extra paranoid being as though we have waterfront property now. They also have these things you can put on the door that make a loud beep if he opens his bedroom door in the middle of the night. I think they sell them at babies r Us.

Another good idea is to put a door alarm on the door, or to hang a wind chime up so that the door hits it when it is opened so you know someone went out (or came in) . I'm so glad he is okay !
