"Why get married?" I ask couples that question a lot. I don't think one way is right or wrong, it is a decision unique to each couple. Some feel the religious pull off it, the calling that screams it is very special and a very important mile stone for every couple to make. Some feel the legal advantages out way everything else. But some feel that they don't need a piece of paper to make it real and true to them.

Our desicion is to put off marriage as long as possible, maybe even until death. If we were to get "married" it would be for the legal advantages later on.

I, personally, don't find the wedding and the "i do"s very important and they actually have very little to do with forming a bond and pledging love to your mate.

A marriage is about celebrating your love with your family and friends and your priest or minister or rabbi.

A partnership is about sharing and keeping that love between the two of you and forming the spiritual connection that only a man and a woman very much in love can have.

I don't feel the need to make our partnership "legal", I don't feel we should have to pay the town money for a liscense or spend a butt load on caterers to be any more committed then any other married couple.

My man and I stood together on the beach and together we had our own beautiful "ceremony". Just us and our God. We said our vows and made a sacred pledge that only two people, together, can make: to be there for each other and to love and respect each other forever and always.

We didn't need a priest, licence or the title of "man & wife" to make it official, we did that all on our own.

He is my husband in every sense of the word, I really don't care if anyone else believes it or not. Our partnership is, just that, ours, no one else is, or was, involved. I think that our partnership is more special than any concept of marriage. We cannot be divorced, we cannot be separated, for we are bonded in love and spirit, not in paper and documents.♥

oh and to answer your question since you must not have read my journal, it's not important to us, might be later for legal advantages like hospital visits and taxes but other than that, not important, just a piece of paper. ♥

god people don't know how to read anymore do they?? i said we may LATER for LEGAL reasons, but if we wait long enough we will have a "common law marriage" anyways. And i trust my in laws and love them to death, I'm not thinking so badly of them that they would make a bad choice if their sons life was on the line! And plus if he wrote a will then i think what he wrote goes, and i don't care about his money and possessions anyways! what great reasons to get that marriage document: decided whether he lives or dies and get all his money. lmao♥
