I had a conference with the principal at Huntsville Middle School this morning. It was over the fact that my daughter's science teacher took up MY copy of the Life Science book and was refusing to return it. My daughter has had continual problems at this school. I won't get into all the details right now, but the recent problem has turned out to be quite disturbing.
I called the teacher first to try to resolve this textbook issue. She was rude and was constantly interupting. The last thing that I said to her before she rudely hung up the phone was "If my book is not returned, I will be keeping Huntsville Middle School's copy." Now I ask you, does that sound like I threatened her bodily harm? Well, she told the principal that I did. However, all she could say was that I said "If my book is not returned". She never could specifically state how I threatened her bodily harm.
However, the principal on the other had did. As we were going to leave his office, he saw HMS copy of the Life Science book and asked in a threatening tone, "Is that my book?" I tried to answer him but he didn't give me a chance. He got up in my face and raised his voice at me like I was a child. I told him that he could get out of my face. He continued on telling me not to raise my voice. I simply responded that he was the one with a raised voice.
We started walking out in the hallway and he lunged at me, putting his finger in my face and yelling at me, "You will give me that book or else!" I keeped my cool and said, "You can't just lunge at me. Back off or I will have the officer arrest you for assault." He yelled again, "I haven't touched you!" I had to politely explain the law to him. Under the law the definition of assault is and I quote, "Assault is when one person tries to physically harm another in a way that makes the person under attack feel immediately threatened. Actual physical contact is not necessary; threatening gestures that would alarm any reasonable person can constitute an assault." I then continued, "You lunging at me and raising your hand to my face along with your threatening tone constitutes assault. Now if you touch me we can up the charge to battery." Amazing how something click in that thick head of his and he was kiss ass from there.
This teacher in question has a history of threatening students and the TRYING to lie to cover her tracks. I even caught the principal in a contradiction about a previous incident and then lied again to try to cover up his bumble.
I have spoken with several parents in the last 3 months. My daughter isn't the only one having a problem with the staff and some students. Let's just say that physical fights break out daily and the faculty doesn't do much to protect our kids. One of the parents mentioned how her child suffered from neck compressions because of bullies, but when other students tried to get teacher help, the teacher said he was too busy.....TEXT MESSAGING FRIENDS!!!
My daughter was ambused by another student. The faculty new about the threat before school opened but didn't deem it of any importance until after the fact. It is sad that students not only have to worry about other students but the faculty as well.
So if you are planning to move to the Huntsville Middle District....DON'T!

I would immediately contact the school board. It's time to go over the principals head to his superiors.
