Beginning Monday night February 16th, 2009, two experts attempt to simplify the confusion around natural birth and infant care.

First, on Monday night, I interview Dr. Sarah Buckley, author of Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering.

Dr. Sarah will address questions hotly debated by traditional and complementary docs worldwide, such as:

  • Is it safe to expose my baby to ultrasound?
  • Which modern birth practices could be dangerous for my baby & me?
  • Can natural birth really be safe and ecstatic?
  • Could drugs used in birth affect my baby’s brain development?

Next, on Tuesday evening February 17th, 2009, I will interview Christine Gross-Loh, author of The Diaper Free Baby, a book about the popular topic of Elimination Communication.

Christine asserts that infants are born with the ability to communicate their needs to “go”, just as they communicate hunger or sleepiness. EC has it's detractors but proponents of EC (elimination communication) point to the following benefits:

  • Infants free from painful diaper rash.
  • New parenthood without wasting money diapering costs.
  • Toilet training that is natural and noncoercive.
  • Happier babies and parents.

These two events are free to all and specific questions can be typed in during the live call.

The number of phone lines is limited so register early and try to listen via the web.  To get more information or register go to: http://mybabybelly.com/blog/ or contact Kim Deeter @ 317-435-8001.

Kim Deeter is an Esthetician & Massage Therapist in Indianapolis, IN. She is also the the owner of MyBabyBelly.com, an online community for organically modern mommies-to-be.
