Grand Opening...WOW!

Ok, I am pretty sure after today I am not cut out for direct sales at all!  I know, once I get better at it, it will go easier, but, MY GOD did I do bad! 

Ok, for those who don't know, I am selling Gold Canyon Candles, lucky for me, they sell themselves, LOL!  I am a LOUSY demonstrator!  My one friend (the one who got me into it in the first place because she likes the candles so much) basically did the whole show for me, I felt like a doof!  I almost cried a couple times.  First off, I didn't know what ANY of the candles were (like the bella, and others) she told everyone what they were, which made me look bad, then after all was said and done NOBODY wanted to book a show, no freaken wonder!!!!!!!!!!  The bad thing was, there was only 2 that showed anyway (4 total with the girl who helped me, and the hostess) and neither one of them wanted to book, probably because of how crappy I did, they wouldn't want me to come and bore them again!  I did get orders, and the party closes next saturday, so I am hoping this makes me something, or at least they got something out of it!  First off, it was valentines day, so nobody that wanted to come, did because of it, thank GOD!  But, they are all going to order before next week!  Then, to make all of this worse, because it was valentines day, I couldn't get a babysitter, so I had to take my 2 1/2 year old daughter there, and the hostess kept yelling at her because she was getting into everything, so I was yelling also, so I was humilliated, but she wanted the party today (I gave her options, but didn't realize until after she booked, that today was valentines day, it never dawned on me!   I also worked at my outside job this morning, so I was beat to begin with.  I want to do this as a fun business, but I don't think I want to make any kind of direct sales business a Full time business, first off, the whole reason I need to be a work at home mom in the first place is because I DON'T have ANYONE, to watch my daughter, hence the reason my outside job is one that allows me to take her, or I wouldn't be working at ALL!  I mean, I knew direct sales was partying, but, it is also called a work at home biz, now, how can it be a work at home biz, when you do it from OTHERS homes?  I mean, I really don't have many days I can have a party without taking my daughter, and that is too much for me!  UGH!  I pretty much either need to just do this as a fun side biz, where I only have a party once in a while, or quit, which I don't want to do, I like the biz, and the girls I work with will allow me to bring her if needed, I just hate to do that! 

I do another biz, and if it makes me as much money as it is supposed to, I plan to just do GC for my friends at work, and myself, and nobody else, this way I can be home with my daughter where I belong, and not out at someone elses house, where she can get into their stuff, and get in trouble, I felt bad, ebcause she got yelled at the whole time, because, even though the hostess has a 1 year old boy, who has a ton of toys, she had nothing to do! 

Ok, I think I feel a little better, I just needed to get all of that off my chest, thanks!

I was never good at those type's of home based business's...I couldn't book the parties, and it seemed the few parties that I did get booked...never seemed to have many in attendance!  I have been blessed to now have found a home business that I'm working from home and not having to book parties, or do sales, and no stocking inventory!!  I also LOVE IT!  It's very imprtant to find a home business that you LOVE!  The right fit for YOU!  I love being able to help other's work from home - using their phone and computer!

I am so sorry :-(  But I know exactly how you feel.  In my opinion, if you have to go do parties all the time, it sort of defeats the purpose of working FROM home, because most of the time you are not at home!!!  Although I love to buy direct selling company products, I personally would never want to do the business.  I hope it works for you and maybe you just had a bad day:-(  Maybe next time will be better?  Hang in there Mama, you will find something to do from home that is perfect for you!!

I can relate! - They keep telling me - just keep on doing them - make mistakes & get back on your feet. I'm sure at your next showing - you'll do that much better.
