(no preaching here, just wanted to give you some facts)

More than a year ago, while still a Senator, Barack Obama promised the abortion lobby that, as President, he would sign the Freedom of Choice Act into law.

The FOCA  overturns virtually all federal and state pro-life laws.  FOCA would also overturn all restrictions on public funding of abortion and require taxpayers to pay for elective abortions.

What FOCA Does:

*Creates a new federal right to abortion and would repeal the Hyde Amendment allowing unlimited federal funding for abortion.

*Removes all safeguards ("interferences") currently in place at the state or federal level.  these include:

 - Full disclosure to the patient (ultrasound images of the unborn child, details about pain inflicted on the baby, any information about long-term complications for the mother)

-Parental notification for minors seeking abortion

-Waiting periods

-Restrictions based on fetal viability allowing for abortion on demand through the ninth month of pregnancy

-Protections for doctors and nurses who refuse to perform or assist in an abortion

-Protections for religiously affiliated hospitals as well as public hospitals that currently do not perform abortions

-Exclusions for abortion coverage from health care plans of federal employees

*Overturns the partial-birth abortion ban, a gruesome late-term procedure involving the forced extraction of the infant from the mother's womb, insertion of a device to suction the brains from the baby's skull allowing for the skull to be crushed facilitating its removal from the birth canal.

The majority of American support these common-sense protections,  FOCA is extreme even for many who identify themselves as "pro-choice."

God's Word tells us to "speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves" (Proverbs 31:18). Speak against the Freedom of Choice Act to protect the lives of preborn children.

I would suggest folks learn about WHY a woman would have a  partial birth abortion. dont buy the hype ladies. learn about WHY it is needed be a protected medically available procedurfe.

there are situations in which a woman is pregnant with a severaly disabled baby that will DIE at birth and that being further pregnant is risking HER life as well. I would hope that this women would be allowed to this procedure to save them possible death and thier already born children losing thier mom due to other people's false views on the procedure. I am in NO way  saying this is a procedure that should EVER be used on a baby that is capable of life outside the womb. But this is a decision between a woman and her Dr. no one else should be in that decision, not the government certainly.

contrary to popular belief by some people, women dont just suddently decide ot kill thier baby late in pregnancy and look for a way out.

And this is where the 'common sense' comes in.  If a woman's life is in danger that is a whole other story. and I think contrary to popular belief that Christians, pro-lifers, the medical field, and the government stand behind that.  But how do we know that there aren't people out there that would use 'the late in pregnancy' choice if they had it, there's enough desperate people that would then have that choice, and we need to protect that unborn child.  Why should we give them that choice?

so because of a MAYBE then all women with medical issues should just DIE? sorry that is wrong. when pro-lifers move to adopt crack babies and worse off kids then they have room to speak. otherwise what is the point of being so pro-life? of course someone MIGHT do a late term abortion JUST to abort a baby. just like some women abort babies early on to avoid responsability. its always a chance. But most Dr's worth thier while WONT perform a late term abortion without just medical cause.

common sense says GET OUT OF OTHER WOMEN"S WOMBS and worry about YOUR OWN. just my opinion.

Pro life Rocks and life is Truth. there are more risk assiosate with partial birth abortion, if they are delivering the baby  already why stab the child in teh head and then crush the skull? a baby that has disablity desereves the same right to not be stab in the head as you or me. The point of partial birth abortion is to make sure that the baby is dead. It is a sad sad thing.

ok how about the value of the mothers LIFE if she cannot give birth without possibly DYING? it isnt JUST to make sure the baby is dead. it is also so that delivery is eased for the mother.

pro life rocks huh? did YOU adopt any crack babies lately?

Sati, I think everyone would agree that if the life of mother is at risk, then maybe that is the solution.  Do YOU realize how many times a misdiagnoses has been made, where the parents have been told their child will be defective, and they have gone on to have the child and it wasn't or even if it was it was still the joy of the parents life.  And I personally knew someone who was told not to have her last child, that she could die, she had a bad heart, but she chose to go through it, and they both survived, unfortunately she, my friend died years later of heart failure, but she left behind a beautiful family.

I had a friend of ours (he's more my husbands friend from college) once ask me if I was to get raped and get pregnant by the rapist, would I have the child.  I told him yes, it wasn't the babies fault that his father was an asshole, he went off on me, wondering why I would put my dh through that, so on, and so on, I didn't say I would keep the baby, there are plenty of people who would love to adopt a child.  But it would be real difficult for me to even do that, since it would be a part of me too, and I love children, but if my dh couldn't handle it, I would go for adoption.  My dh agreed with me, more or less, but then we never had that situation happen, and you don't know what you would do until it happens. so the whole conversation was stupid anyway.

Nobody could ever convince me that abortion is ok, it is forgiviable but not ok, I don't care it it is a crack baby or not. I have to be honest that I don't know what a crack baby's chance at having a normal life is, haven't studied up on that, have heard that they are born with no concience, don't know if that is true or not or just someones justification. And if you can enlighten me on that, I would welcome thoughts, I would really like verification on it or maybe I should say statistics as to their survival rate and chance for a normal life is.  I hate to talk out of my butt about something I know nothing about.

On the flip side, when the funding restrictions were in place, health centers that performed abortions could not get funding for their other services.  That, IMO, is wrong.  Why can't we be adults and not let crap like that happen?  Why does every decision have to be so darn extreme?
