I know I have been absent from here for a month now. I do keep this tab always open in my browser, but I've recently become quite addicted to Facebook. (I was hesitant to join, but DH did so I did too.) The addiction has everything to do with the fact that DD 'forced' me to adopt a virtual pet that needs daily care! It's kind of cute, when the pet needs bathing you can see flies flying around it - so it makes us laugh and then we 'wash' her (female cat named Princess. She's pink. All DD's ideas, I swear!). I do not want to fall away from my home here, but you're all welcome to add me if you're over there too, and I'll still keep up the WLJ here.
Speaking of, I haven't really gained or lost more than a pound over the last month. Still at 204 as of yesterday morning, and this week I'll have the house to myself during the days with the kids at school and DH at work. I enlisted a friend of DH's to help me choose songs (he's a DJ) for an aerobics playlist that will keep me moving like mad for a solid 30 minutes, so I'm aiming for one hour of exercise every day this week. My other goal is to drink at least one glass of water every day - something I've always had trouble with. I need to wean myself from sugar completely! I'm better about it these days than even 5 years ago, but it's still too much daily sugar for me. So to reiterate the goals - one hour daily exercise, and one 8 oz. glass of water daily, for the next 4 days. I want to be back in ONEderland by March 1st, which means 4 pounds in 2 weeks.
Our anniversary is about a month away. We're looking to plan an overnight trip somewhere within a few hours' drive, but are not sure what exactly we're going to do yet. I told him to choose where and I'll try to take care of everything else. For the first part of Spring Break, the kids will be camping with my ILs at a lodge down on Lake Cumberland. MIL gets a teacher's discount through March 31st every year, and they have an indoor pool so the kids *love* going there. They'll be able to stay 4 days/3 nights this year. During that time, DH and I want to fly out to Seattle and visit for a couple days. He's a coffee lover so I know we'll have to hit Starbucks LOL (Jenn, anything you want while we're there? (-: ) We also want to see the Space Needle. He's going to plan that trip. Since it's just the two of us we can do it on the cheap too! And then the second half of Spring Break week, the kids and I will likely stay at Mom's and just hang out for a few days. With all the school they've missed so far, I think we're lucky to still have the break, but they'll be in school until June 4th now - the district has already scheduled all the flex days they had until then and we've run over by 2 days! It's been a long cold winter but spring is right around the corner now - home stretch!!
Yesterday MIL kept the kids for us so we could go up to Ikea in Cincinnati. That store is flippin' h.u.g.e. We shopped online Saturday night, so we did have a plan, but we didn't think we'd find so many things that we'd like to buy in the future! We managed to spend a little more than anticipated, but covered nearly everything storage-wise that has been just driving us batty here. I have a new sewing table with a skinny filing cabinet that fits underneath now, and I'm reorganizing it today and tomorrow. Once I have it all finished, there will be pictures. I need another filing cabinet to fit everything under the table. And what I have so far only cost around $120 all together, an extra cabinet will be another $30 - he says it's all worth it to have it put away where he can't see it. LOL We spent about 5 hours last night building everything, today is rearrange and reorganize day, and the garbage will be picked up Wednesday morning. So the house will only be wrecked until then :-)
Lastly, I am getting to sew more. I've gone through all my fabric and figured out what I wanted to keep and what to give to local programs (that teach sewing and donate what's made). Now I'm cutting up a bunch that aren't really big enough to make one thing from and I'll probably end up with at least one blanket for our bed, and maybe one for one of the kids. Neither will be beautiful or perfectly laid out and matched, but I'm aiming for functionality right now. I need to get as much sewing as I can done before I get back out into the workforce - I'm running out of time! Anyway I'll get pictures of all that too, once it's ready to be photographed.
So there's my explanation for being MIA for a month, and you're all caught up on the happenings in our house. I hope you all are doing wonderfully! I have caught myself up on your journals, and think of each of you daily. I will check in here at least twice a week from now on, so you know I'm still alive :-)

Glad to have you back! Come March 27th (or roundabouts there) I'll be joining you again on the improving my body journey. Especially with hubby saying some of the silly things he's been saying lately!
Short story... Last Friday, as we walked out of Target we both couldn't help but notice the fully stocked racks of bikinis. This is when Chuck blurts out (to his almost 9mo prego wife), "That's right! You'll have your body back just in time for swimsuit season"! What????????? Can you believe he said that? Luckily, I was in a good mood and was able to control the hormones enough to explain that A) my body won't be back to normal in 2 months and B) NEVER and I mean NEVER say something like that again to me! I didn't even bother to mention C) my body has never been ready for swimsuit season! LOL Not in elementary school, middle school, high school, college, or any other time in my life that I can remember. Hmmm, maybe I was just adorable in a bathing suit as an infant! LOL
Anyway, good luck with getting your sewing projects done. I always love to see the completed projects!
I know, I'm terrible! But Facebook has word scramble games and stuff!! And Clare made me adopt a cat that she cares for! LOL
I wish there was a pill or something for motivation. The best I got is forcing myself to listen to a fast song early in the morning, which usually puts me in the mood to dance around, and then I take it from there. But only when I'm here alone - I get a panicky anxious feeling in the pit of stomach if anyone could possibly see me! So it's an every other week thing.
I've never been and never will be ready for swimsuit season either - I like a one-piece suit or tankini with a skirt! And then I still have some kind of long t-shirt over it or something - the curse of being female, huh? Give him a punch on the arm for that remark! LOL And besides, hasn't he realized yet that a pregnant woman is the most beautiful?!? At least I've always thought so, and it goes deeper than physical beauty (although that's there too).
Soon as I get all the fabric the way I need it, I hope to get sewing at least one day each week. Or even a couple hours. I have so much it seems overwhelming, but I'll get to it. It's so relaxing to me. I can even enlist him to help put the colors together, so it becomes a shared interest, even if only a tiny bit :-)
I do miss you girls!! ((hugs))
