I have a 15 month old daughter who will not sleep completely through the night..This is her bedtime routine:
Bath at 830
Sippy cup of warm milk b4 bed
Motrin if needed
Mobile on that does lulabys, nature n classical music w/light show
lights out n she cries
When she was a tiny baby i did massage gel w/her and that worked wonders i wonder if i should go back to using night massage gel w/her..
Comments:
Perhaps putting her to bed earlier might help. Or, if she has a history of reflux, don't feed her anything but water right before bed. We don't give our sone anything but water after 6:30pm.
My son is 20-mos. Our routine begins at 7:00pm. It's diaper change, pajamas, story, kisses, crib by 7:30pm. He plays in his crib for about 15-30 min and falls asleep without fuss. He has been sleeping through the night consistantly since he was 10-mos. Before that he was getting up 2-3 times a night and it was driving me crazy! When he would wake up, we would let him cry for a few minutes. If he couldn't settle down on his own we would go in and sooth him until his breathing was normal. Then we would put him in his crib awake and see if he would fall asleep. At first we had to go right back in but gradually he learned to put himself to sleep. After about a month of this constant routine he settled into it and we haven't had a problem since. He doesn't sleep well when he is teething but he will put himself back to sleep if he wakes up.

Around this age they do teeth molars and incisors, motrin helps with that.
They also begin to dream. But....they can't tell reality from a nightmare...moniter what she sees on TV to calm her during the day for a good nights sleep.
good luck!
