My two oldest sons both had Valentine's Day parties in class and was asked to bring healthy snacks. He went with Clementines and Juice boxes, they both did. Well, they cam home with lots and lots of candy! not one healthy snack. They also brought back home oranges and juice boxes... now why write a letter if you are not going to go by the rules? was I wrong to send in what I did? Should I have sent in cookies or candy? They also brought in v day pencils and cards ffor their classmates, which seemed to be a good thing, the kids like those.. :)
I wonder what the teacher thought.. or the other parents....
one parent sent in a bag of candy, lolipops, cards, pencils, erasers... a bunch of things... boy did I feel stupid!
whats your opinion?

At my son's preschool, twice a year the students bring a healthy snack to share for the week. Last semester I sent Goldfish and string cheese. This semester I am sending carrots sticks and string cheese. Too often my son comes home talking about the cookies or cup cakes that he had at school. I don't care for him eating those things at home, let alone at school. All of the parents are reminded to send healthy snacks and we're given a list of school approved items, and yet my son is still getting cookies and crap at school. I don't get it. At least I send a healthy snack. I think you did good sending what you did. I'd be pretty upset if the healthy snack got sent back home too. Have you asked the teacher what gives?
That's a bummer! I would have been upset too, I went to school that morning and I can't even tell you how many kids were walking to class with a big tray of cupcakes, it was crazy in there!!! I think you did the right thing, that's what was asked of you.
