Do you know that there is currently more than 950 soldiers who are looking to be adopted?
What does adopting them mean? It means they would like you to write one letter  - even if it's once a month. That's all, just one letter.

Please go to this site and adopt a soldier  http://adoptaussoldier.org

Most of us chose to email them, send them letters, cards, maybe send them little care packages once in a while, to let them know that we support them, that they are loved and not forgotten.

I've adopted a soldier and hope to adopt more, once I get the hang of it.  It makes me feel good knowing that I am doing something to help them in a small way - and he seems to be so thankful.

Some of these soldiers don't have anyone that writes to them, so even one letter is special to them. It's always nice to know someone cares about you, right?

This is such a small thing to do for these brave people, who are not only dodging bullets, seeing horrible sights, and trying to stay alive to protect us and what we have, but they are fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, sons, and daughters. All they want is a little communication from back home, to take their minds off of the horror, heat, and other bad things going on there.

I'm also asking for prayers, to keep them safe and hope for a speedy return home.

Adopt a US Soldier was on the Today show. You can watch the touching story here

I have two. Donald I adopted last year. I haven't heard from him now in over two months. My mom sent him a really nice care package for Christmas and I don't even know if he has gotten it. Shortly after writing several letters and not getting a response, I adopted another one. Her name is Lisa, she is 44 and has 4 kids. Two of them she adopted. They were her best friends kids. She lost her best friend a few years back. She took a really sad thing and made it awesome for those kids. Everyone that has a stamp, envelope and at least ten minutes a week should sign up and make a difference in our soldiers lives. Thanks for the post darling.
