I heard it called "toilet learning" somewhere and like that term much better...so I'm calling it "potty learning" instead...haha. We introduced Iain to his potty at 11 months...the second he could walk! But I must admit that I hadn't done much more than that since. If I knew he'd have to go potty like...in the morning...after a bath...before bed...I'd take him...but that was really it. He'd ask sometimes but not terribly often and that was really just the first month or two after the introduction.

He's now 16 months old. All last week I got set to really start "potty learning" with him this past Saturday because I really wanted him "learned" before he was 2. So...I bought underwear for him and we started after his nap on Saturday (for some reason...I can't seem to start anything new with him in the mornings) and by this morning...he was completely "potty learned". He had NO accidents all day! Not one drop :-) I am soooooo proud of him. The first half day was really rough!!! I sooooo wanted to quit but...I kept at it...with no expectations. Today...he told me every time he had to go and we ran to the potty and he went :-) He is completely awesome and I'm sooooooo proud of him. I'm sure there are a few accidents to come...no one's perfect (though he's pretty darn close!). It was awesome...I was in the kitchen making bread and even though I wasn't with him...he didn't see it as excuse to just go in the living room...he came to the gate...called for me...and we once again ran to the potty and he went. He's completely amazing!!! I know it's just one day...so I have no expectations for tomorrow. Put...it's awesome all the same :-D We will be trying it out with pants on tomorrow afternoon and will see how that goes. And then Friday morning we will try out "public". Wish us luck!
