I think that this is going to be a very powerful exhibit displayed at the Sabatini Gallery of the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library from March 6 to April 17 2009.  For a blurb about it, click on the link above to see the library's Connect Now March Edition.  I really think that all women, but especially those that are raising girls should attend this showing, being brought to the community by the Junior League of Topeka, the YWCA, and the library.  The photographer, Lauren Greenfield, has followed young women, taking photos of them in real life, often with disturbing and surprising results.  It will open your eyes to the impact that today's society has on young women, and on thier self-image and self-worth.  PLEASE NOTE:  There are some photos that are of a sensative nature, so it may not be appropriate for younger children to view.

As a Junior League member, I am volunteering to serve as a docent during this exhibits run, so if a group of CMs (or several groups) want to get together to go on a tour, I would be more than happy to lead a tour through.  Please out this event on your calendar and plan to attend sometime during its run.
