You see it all the time, how much money you can save if you can buy in bulk, and the more the better.... and you often wonder,  how in the world can you buy that much, as it will go to waste?

I have a true story to share with you.  I am originally from upstate NY... I had a terrible husband at that time, abusive both physically and mentally, he worked only 6 years of our 18 years of marriage, and to top that off, he only worked 3 of those six years.. full time.. the rest was part time....

And I had no vehicle... so I had been searching for ways to get one, and saw a tupperware flyer and on the back of it, it said that I could earn a FREE van... well I called the lady, and she showed me how I can earn my van for free, and how to earn my kit for free... so I had my first party, the sales from that got me a free kit filled with lots of free tupperware... and guess what... I recruited two people, and before I could recruit my third, one of my two people had recruited her three, making her a manager... then I kept going, and everyone I recruited, kept turning to managers before I could... butthats not the story I want to share...

I loved that I could put food in the modular mates, and if they became dirty, I could just throw them, food and all, in the sink with the dishes, wash them and rinse them, and the food inside stayed dry.....

Then it happened, we lost our home for back taxes.... and ended up homeless, because in NY, you had to have a residential adress to receive help, and if you are loosing your home, they wouldnt help you until you have lost it... catch 22,, if you loose your home, you have no residential adress.....

so all of my tupperware ended up in my  mothers shed along with other things we couldnt part with.....  everything else we sold or burned.... not like we had much to begin with....

then I had an opportunity to move to Kansas and work at Amazon.com.... good pay, and homes and expenses were much cheaper, so we packed us, all three of our teenaged kids, and enough clothes for all of us for a week, and all of their school supplies into our little bitty colt vista hatchback.... and left for kansas... a year had already gone by with  no job, and we left with $180 in our pockets...... I was working one week after we arrived.... and the next summer we went to ny for a couple of weeks.  While I was there, I mailed UPS all of my tupperware.. with the food still in them, to Kansas.... and guess what, when I got home from NY, there were my boxes, all 9 of them, big boxes, and I was so surprised when I opened them that the tupperware not only survived the way they were handled, but the lids were still intact, and upon checking further and started to use things, all of the stuff inside was still good... It had been two years!!! even my yeast was still active!!!!

So the next time you think you want to buy in bulk, dont be afraid to buy something worth spending money on, that is guarenteed, and can stand up to being shipped 1,400 miles by UPS and still not spill....

Also, did you know that Tupperware containers are the only ones allowed to be used by people going overseas in the military....they are air tight and liquid tight....

So dont be afraid to buy a large tupperware container to store food in..

Figure out how much you throw away in stale foods in just one month, or would if you werent running to the store often to buy more to replace what you used, because you are afraid of it going stale or soggy?  Cereal last so much longer in the mm containers, and no lumps from moisture in my flour, sugar, baking powder or soda, and my yeast lasts a long long time!!!!

Not only can I buy in bulk.. I never seem to have to throw out anything because its stale!  And with the Buyers Club, you save 25% on what you buy!
