My sister just told me that Baby Taylor has to see a Cardiologist on Monday.
Since being born she has had trouble nursing and was slightly jaundice. They had to take her to the peds office twice since being discharged and yesterday they heard a heart murmur, and told her that somtimes there is a vessel that is supposed to close that doesn't. I looked it up online and its called PDA:
Definition
Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a condition in which a blood vessel called the ductus arteriosus fails to close normally in an infant soon after birth. (The word "patent" means open.)
The condition leads to abnormal blood flow between the aorta and pulmonary artery, two major blood vessels surrounding the heart.
I am soooo frikin scared. Its soo hard to not be able to get to my sister, my best friend and be of comfort and hug her and cry with her. I haven't even met my neice yet and this is sooo hard! ![]()
Rikene is being such a good mom, she was devasted when she couldn't nurse at first and it wasn't coming as easily, I cant imagine how this is affecting her. I NEED to get to her as soon as humanly posssible. But I also know that with only 2 days left till my due date, its not safe for me to travel. Heck I may be giving birth while she is at the cardiologist! What a cluster F this is turning out to be! I think we both had hopes that it was going to be just a double-y joyous carefree time in our lives and it still can be, we just have to stay positive right???
Thanks for any prayer, positve, healing and happy thoughts....

Hang in there.. she knows you would be there in a minute if it wasn't for your not being able to travel. My prayers go out to her and her dd. At least when they do an EKG they don't have to sedate or do anything to evasive.... it will be okay. :) {{hugs}}
Of coarse I'm thinking of you all....I always am.
Sending out all of the positive vibes that I can.
It'll be ok Rene.......... I'm sure that your experiencing an emotional overload due to your pregnancy, but I'm sure your sister is comforted by you even though you can't physically be by her side right now. We have a baby who comes to our clinic who was born with a backwards heart. They operated on him when he was a few days old and he's doing great. I also have a friend who's daughter has had 3 open heart surgeries and she's 3yr's old. It's amazing how far the medical world has come. What's even better, is that they catch things early and are able to fix them without it becoming a bigger problem. You just hang in there and try not to get too stressed out for the sake of you and Riley. I know it's easier said then done, but you got to be!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS, and I'll be praying for your sister and niece!! Continue to think positively and everything will be ok =)
