Bunny's Journal

Thoughts and Ramblings

Norah was once addicted to the pacifier big time. I should have taken it when she was a year old and wouldn't care as much, but I didn't. At 2 I got her down to just at bedtime (unless she found one lying around...LOL). The months before she turned 3 I bribed her to give it up.  (she's 4 1/2 now for anyone who doesnt know)

I told her she could pick anything in the toy department at Walmart (within reason) if she gave it up. She chose an Ariel doll.

It was a rough couple nights, but we made it. Whenever she would cry for the binky I would tell her that she could have the binky back but if I gave it back, I would have to take Ariel away. After about a week she never even mentioned it anymore.

Last Summer I was helping Norah clean her room and I found two binkies hidden under her bed. I'm not sure where she found them but we have lost so many in this house I always say if we ever move and clear out the house we'll find 100 of them. Doug and I asked her about them and she admitted she hid them there, but promised she wouldn't use them anymore and let me throw them away without any protest. None of us mentioned it again.

Now...last night we were cleaning the kids rooms again. Under these stuffed animals that sit at the bottom of her bed, I found a change purse. Guess what was in it???? A BINKY!

Doug cracked up and then called her in. She got kind of embarrassed and then she said she was just keeping for when she has babies! LOL.

She's a sneaky one, but very creative answers! LOL
