Things aren't as bad as I thought. DH had more in checking than either of us thought (he is notorious for not balancing his checkbook). We have enough in savings plus tax refund to pay the mortgage for 3-4 months and keep cable/internet up for the job search. Credit cards will get behind, but everything else should be okay. He's still looking, but the only job he's been offered is severely part time and pays virtually nothing for the job requirements (Class B CDL required, $9 an hour, 9 hours or so a week).
Comments:
I am so sorry about him loosing his job. Everyone seems to be getting hit. My father just got laid off (well as of the end of March) from his and he worked there for about 15 years. The company he was working for went under because of not only the economy here, but the economy in Japan (where the company is based out of) is really bad too.

If he had his own truck or van and a class a license I could get him hooked up with mine and jerrys boss.. seems like he figured out a way to keep going..... and I'd be the one booking loads for him... looking at designated runs to NE or MO....right now..
