My daughter has a great pediatrician but I am having a hard time finding a good dentist. The dentist my husband and I see is a real asshole and we are in the process of finding a new one. Same with our doctor-but that is a whole nother story.

So my real question is- does it seem like medicaid only offers the doctors that are jerks??? It seems like you really have to look around for a good doc. that will accept medicaid. If you're not a paying customer they aren't friendly and are real brief with you. I don't expect grade A royal treatment but I do wanna be seen and treated with respect. Just because I get medicaid doesnt mean I (nor my family) are scum and deserve lesser treatment than anyone else.

I know exactly what you mean! I don't know why that is either. I went to the doc. the other day and the lady was like "Do you have insurance." I said no. She wispered "Oh, so you have medicaid." Like it was some darl secret I should be ashamed of. We waited for over 2 hours just a for 5 minutes of the doctors time. We get the nasty, dirty offices with the slow treatment and rude people.

I'm sorry your having trouble with that, We have the BEST pediatrian and are treated great.  I'd also look for a pediatric dentist if you have any close to you, they are much more friendlier as they like working with children, as some dentist dont.

Around here, people with Medicaid are treated like roaches. No decent place will take patients who have it and the ones that do are full of doctors and dentists who treat you badly and make you feel like crap. I hated that, and many times I cried because they treated me and my daughter so badly!

I believe Doctors who accept Medical cards do not get paid for their services and that's why they don't want to take them. It's all about the almighty dollar with most of them.

i was on medicaid when i was pregnant with my son, 9 yrs ago and i was 19 yrs old.  i got some stares and snickers at the dr. office, i was so embaressed.  what made it so bad then was that i had a huge bright yellow sheet of paper that i would have to take out at the dr. office to show proof of medicaid, oh god it was so embaressing.!  but now i think they just give you a card or something right?  i alteast hope they do :00

I am no longer on medicaid, but i do know that some dr's will not take patients on medicaid.  medicaid helped me out so much when i was so young and such  young mom.  if it were not for medicaid theni have NO IDEA how we would have paid for my dr. visits and my baby's.

i think its horrible for people to make rude comments or gestures for people on medicaid.  for one they have not idea of the circumstance or situation.

patients on medicaid DESERVE care and patience just like EVERYONE else girly :0)

Sorry to hear that you are having a rough time with Doctors!  My mom has a similar problem with her dentist...she finally found a good one.

Best of luck on your search!
