It breaks God's heart to see so many of His people feeling restless, insignificant, and without purpose. This overly-commercialized society driven by the acquisition of money, fame and notoriety is poisoning the minds of people everywhere. Sadly, this mindset has affected everyday people and caused them to feel that their lives are mundane and painfully ordinary.

But don't you realize that each day you wake up is another chance to be used by God to impact this world for His glory? You're not just here and existing for nothing. You have been created with a purpose. Certainly, that purpose won't be found watching TV, thumbing through the pages of secular magazines, or allowing yourself to get sucked into pop culture.

No. All those things I mentioned above only serve to make you feel inadequate and empty, leaving you stripped of your sense of value and worth, and groping for something to quench your thirst for relevance.

No one wants to live that way, yet many do.

I'm a stay-at-home-mom and I have 2 children, and raising them hasn't always been easy but for me that's ministry. I realize that by taking time to invest in the lives of the children God has entrusted to me, I better position them to be full of joy and productivity in the future. Even when I complete household chores, or simply make dinner to feed the family, I'm honoring God with my life.

Don't you realize how much glory God gets when you use your everyday life as a means of contributing something of value right in your little corner of the world?

Listen. Whether you're a single mom working to provide for your family; a stay-at-home mom striving to make your home a haven; or just a great and trustworthy friend to those that look to you for support and encouragement, it doesn't matter. Everything you do can be a testament to the fact that Jesus is alive inside of you.

But you have to shift your perception of some things.

You've got to begin seeing how significant it is to use your everyday life as an opportunity to enrich someone else's life.

Now that, my friend, is what pleases the Lord!

Just because you haven't  yet accomplished certain things on the level you may have been hoping and praying that you would, doesn't  mean that new and exciting doors of opportunity will never open for you.

My point is, you've got to learn how to enjoy the journey. After all, you don't want to look back on these years and realize how much  time you wasted being miserable and full of worry simply because you didn't know what tomorrow had in store for you.

God wants you to enjoy your everyday life and use it in a way that pleases Him.

If you have children, be the best mom you can be. Tell the kids how much you love them. Let them see you being an example of the love God.

If you're an employee, treat your co-workers well. Be a team player. Don't gossip. Be kind to someone that others around the office shun.

If you're active in your local church, don't get caught up in jockying for position. Worship God every time you have the chance. And serve in whatever capacity you're supposed to with a good attitude, always exhibiting Christ-like attributes.

You get my drift, right?

Think about how much better off this world and the folks in it would be, if we all viewed every new day as an opportunity to positively affect those around us.

No matter where you are in your life at this point, you are significant. I'll say that again; you are significant. There is purpose for your life; don't get so preoccupied with the future that you forget to appreciate and enjoy the present.

You are very blessed just to be alive. Don't take it for granted. Begin using your life... and start today. Remember, whether you're folding laundry, washing dishes, reading a book to your child, cooking up dinner, serving on the usher board, singing in the choir, running your own business, or working hard just to make ends meet...

Your life is in God's hands. Treasure and value it.

God certainly does!
