I just always wonder why the vaccine industry is so opposed to letting people do their own research and make choices for themselves. I can't say that I've ever seen an anti-vaccine commercial.
Coming from a physician's viewpoint, not the "vaccine industry", why do you think you and all these other mothers here are competent to actually evaluate the medical evidence, which you cannot understand, unless you have a post-doctorate degree? How can anyone make a sane choice when they are getting their "medical information" by Google? And from online mom's groups and websites that are no more competent to evaluate the evidence, because the base knowledge to understand the complexity of the immune system is absent? Your "Arrogance of Ignorance" is getting in your way. You presume you are competent to make public health decisions, when you can't understand the science. That is about as arrogant as one can get. And ignorant.
Actually I come from a family full of practicing doctors, which is where I've gotten a great deal of my information. But cute of you too assume. WTH is your deal lady? I wasn't being rude, and had no intention of being rude to you. That nasty comment you just made is the definition of arrogance. Have some respect for others and their opinions. You're not doing much to de-bunk the idea that most doctors are on out of control ego trips.
Not to mention the fact that looking at vaccine ingreidients on the CDC's own website is enough to give you nightmares if you know what you're looking at. Guess that's just some google search website too though where people don't know what they're talking about.
Wow...that is the stupidest commercial ever...all that money poored into vaccines and that is all they can come up with...I lost 10 IQ points just watching it.
It isn't arrogance to point out a deficit of knowledge. You are the arrogant ones, making public health decisions without a true understanding of the science. Did you even read the article? It points out how easy it is for even intelligent people who don't have a working knowledge of the specific area to be fooled by the pseudoscience out there. The more intelligent people are, the more fooled they are by pseudoscience, because they have the arrogance that they can understand the intricacies of the immune system, without ever having actually studied it, having no knowledge of the scientific journal articles over the past 5 years or more, so you can sort out what is actually good science and what is bad science and what is pseudoscience.
It's like me saying to a plumber, okay I read about how to fix that plumbing problem, I googled it. I have no experience in plumbing, but I am smart, so I'm sure I can do this. That is arrogance.
So what is your opinion of the many doctors, with PhDs, educated at the same medical schools are you who are opposed to vaccines? Are they ignorant too?
Oh, and I come from a family of plumbers, btw. (sarcasm)
Are you talking about the less than 1% who are in your camp? The vast majority, more than 99% of physicians vaccinate their children. Fully.
