On the night of Valentines we noticed Angel was breathing a lot heavier than he usually does, and we took him into the ER. He was there waiting with me. He had to be on oxygen and he hated it so much. He was crying so much, a terrible cry to it sounded like he was in excruciating pain or something. They kept doing all these tests and when he went to sleep they woke him up to put the oxygen thing in his nose, which he could not stand. He screamed even more than he ever has before. He also had gotten a fever on top of everything else. Two of my boyfriends kids came, but he took them home since they got so upset hearing Angel screaming. Angelwas refusing to eat  regular food, and I had to practically force him to drink formula. We had to wait for the doctor to talk to the pediatrician to see if we would have to go to doernbecher instead. Finally the doctor came back with the news that the ambulance was on the way to take him to doernbecher. Shortly after the ambulance showed up and put Angel on one of those stretchers, buckled him in and we where on our way. I had to ride in the front. It seemed like the longest ride I had ever taken in my life. Thoughts scrabbled together trying to make sense of the horrible condition that had invaded Angels tiny body. They had said it was pneumonia in the ER. At least he got some well needed rest on the way there. The next morning I woke up to about 6 doctors looking at him while he slept quietly in his crib. They told me he did not have pneumonia, but a virus and they couldn't treat it. They wanted to make sure he had oxygen and try to make him more comfortable during the worst part of his virus. The next day we didn't see much progress. The main goal was to try and keep his oxygen level up. We also got him to drink some formula and juice. They also sucked out his nose with this wall suctioning device they had. As the days went by he got a little stronger. Finally on Thursday we started noticing a big difference Angel was starting to be himself again. He was smiling sweetly and talking nonstop. The doctors were still worried because when he went to sleep his oxygen was dropping to about 85, it was around 98 when he was awake. I stayed with him another night, and then we stayed Friday night. On Friday night he did so much better. Then on Saturday it was time to take him home at last. Angel is feeling so much better now He still has a little bit of congestion and is taking more naps. He is back to playing and being a happy baby again. His appetite is definitely coming back also. I still wonder how he eats so much. It seems like he never gets full. I am just so relieved that he is back at home. I am grateful to our friends and family who helped us get through this time, with there time, prayers, and support. I am also grateful to the medical team who helped heal him.

awwww he is a cutie pie. Sounds like he got RSV which is a pain and very dangerous. thank Heavens you found a hospital who knwe what to test for. It is quite common in young children under the age of 2 1/2 and children who were premature...So glad he is much better now
