Cheap Trick - I Want you to Want me

When I was a little girl, my dad was in a band. The band was called "Maxwell Smart"
My dad was the lead singer, what an amazing voice he had. It was truly beautiful.
This was one of their best songs. They would sing it at weddings, parties, everywhere.
I was always at these events, usually dancing in my jammies.
At 2:50 in the song, that's when my dad would jump off the stage and sing to me and dance with me.

Every time we went anywhere together, he'd always be singing this song, always. I'll never forget his voice. I don't have a relationship with my dad anymore. I wish I did, I love him and miss him terribly every single day, he only lives about 30 mins from me, and works even closer.

Anyways - that's my song. Always will be.

What a wonderful memory. I bet your dad shares that memory. My dad and I didn't have a relationship for .... well, way too many years.....he's never even met my 17 year old, and only met my 19 year old once when he was 9 months old....that's the last time he saw my oldest son as well. We've started to have a relationship by phone the last 2 years (long story). He regrets missing his grandsons entire childhoods.

I hope you and your dad are able to fix things. Good luck and hugs.
