What a week! This past week was a doosey! It all started out with a packed schedule (and I mean packed). Four kids with parent/teacher conferences, volunteering at book fairs, teacher meals, chiro appointment for my self along with haircut and other appointment for the kids. My little one has to be run three times a week to gymnastics and swimming.

Now I knew I was in for a busy week and that's fine by me. What I wasn't planning on was having two kids come down with the puky flu and this...

This is a dead refridgerator!!!! I was volunteering at the school and when I got home I walk into the kitchen to a dead refridgerator drooling gross stuff all over the floor. What was it drooling? All the frozen food that completely thawed!!!!! I'm talking $100's of dollars of wasted food as the fridge side was warm inside!!! Then my youngest son gets off the bus while I'm trying to salvage anything possible and he starts throwing up!!!! His brother followed his footsteps a day later.

Couldn't get anyone here to check it out for three days (that's three days of no fridge w/sick kids and a family of 6 to feed). When they finally came, they discovered it wasn't fixable. This baby is only 7 y/o. WTH?

So you know what we had to do?

Here is a picture of our salvaged food coolers. It didn't make sense to buy any more as the temps reached the 40's and all the snow was melting!!!!!! I think this is the first time I wished for colder weather!!!!

Here's a picture of the sky on the third day. See what I mean? Dreary, melting and wet.

Do you know what all that darkness led to? Freezing rain!!!! The last morning, I woke up and went out the back door to get milk for the kids. The cooler was frozen shut! There was a sheet of ice on it. When I finally got it open, I went to open the door to go back in the house and the outside handle was frozen. I couldn't push the button to get back in!! I pounded away as I feared being a human popsicle (found in my jammies). The kids let me in and I poured chunky ice milk on their cereal :)

We now have a new fridge and I am listening to it humming in the other room as I type this. Ah..... music to my ears!!!

LOL I needed this laugh. And may I say, how ingenious to use the snow! I never would have thought of that!

What a way to start the day!! Chipping your way into the cooler! I thought I had it bad when I was having to break through the ice on the barn door, but at least I was dressed in a snowsuit and the freezing rain had stopped!

Let's see a photo of the new fridge!! Then we can suffer from appliance envy :-)
