Dear Heather,

Planned Parenthood needs your help — right now. Anti-choice Sen. David Vitter has introduced an amendment to the Appropriations bill currently being debated in the Senate that would strip federal Title X family planning funding from Planned Parenthood. We need your help to protect Planned Parenthood and the women, men and teens its affiliate health centers serve.

Sen. Vitter's amendment is just the latest in a long string of attacks against Planned Parenthood — and potentially the most devastating. By attempting to deny Title X family planning funding to our health centers, he and his anti-choice allies are making themselves absolutely clear: their goal is to shut down every Planned Parenthood health center in America.

We can't let them do it. Click here to tell your senators to vote "NO" on the Vitter Amendment.

This is the worst possible time for these outrageous attacks. More and more people are losing their jobs and their health insurance — and that means that safety-net providers like Planned Parenthood affiliate health centers are more important than ever. It's unconscionable to try to strip our funding at time when so many people are relying on us — but that's exactly what Sen. Vitter and his allies are trying to do.

This battle is happening right now on the floor of the Senate, and we need your help. Tell your senators that you support Planned Parenthood. Tell them to stand up against this latest attack against our health centers. Tell them to vote "NO."

Thank you for standing with us and helping to protect Planned Parenthood and the women, men and teens its health centers serve.

Sincerely,

Cecile Richards, President
Planned Parenthood Action Fund

i signed it.

if it wasn't for the help that program gave me while i was pregnant and the strength i got from my grandmother it would have been easy for my ex and his parents to force me into abortions.

may people don't see the good they actually do. they only see the negative.

Sometimes abortion is the right thing given the scenario and I will never stop a womans choice even if it is not the choice for me. Planned Parenthood does not JUST do abortions...They give prenatal care, provide low cost exams...free birth control and condoms...They counsel and they connect women with services when they need them... they offer assistance to women that are battling the system for healthcare...and most importantly they provide choices for women and have done so for so many, many years.

tat2edmommyof2,

you are right.

people are so unaware of the help they give so many women. i went to pregnancy help centered and they pushed the idea of adoption on me because my child was unplanned. i had my child and i support him now i have 3 wannabe superheroes.  people zero in on the fact they help some women get abortions but like you have said they have many other services that they provide. when i went to them after i found out i was pregnant with my 1st child they were helpful caring and above all else they didn't push anything on me. the idea of abortion came from my boyfriend and his parents because he felt he was too young to be a father. so i raised my oldest two children on my own for 3 years because he vanished.

people need to look at the big picture abortions are done for many reasons. and its the toughest decision a woman has to make. but either way you look at it cutting funding to that program will be hurting many woman who the program could help get prenatal care.

I can't support this not only because of abortions, its just that they are not the light at the end of the rainbow.  They have been exposed to have broken the law on more than one occasion either telling children to lie or lying to the patients themselves.  I was able to prevent pregnancy for many years without their help or without insurance so I don't fall for the reason of their existence.

Sorry, I cannot support this either. PP supports so many bad things and they are a huge waste of money, most the time. Good luck finding people to sign it though.

Well thank you for remaining polite in your comments. I don't ask anyone to do anything they don't feel comfortable with and never have. I personally support PP and the good (at least in my opinion) that they do, as do many of my friends and acquaintances.

I'm not sure the senators are trying to put them out of business.  They just want to stop forcing all Americans to subsidize them.  Our economy is a mess right now, and many of us do not want our tax dollars going to Planned Parenthood.  I must support the bill to defund PP.
