The questions asked on these theme posts usually seem silly to me. I usually have a smart a$$ answer for the question that is asked, but I don't post it. (hmmmm, maybe next time, I will - but this one, for some weird reason, I like)
Okay, that's "board" game (not "bored" game). Yep, okay, got that straight.
I enjoy board games, card games (love poker and pinochle), computer games, group games (such as Guesstures and Taboo), and just games in general. But, this post is about board games.
I'm a game person. I've enjoyed playing games since I can remember. Like just about everyone else, I began with Candyland and Chutes & Ladders (which by the way, I just purchased for my grandson who is almost 3).
I went through a huge Monopoly addiction when I was about 11-12. My best friend and I played EVERY day. We always had a game in process. When it was time to quit for the night, we'd put our money and property aside with our name on it. And, we'd write down where our tokens were on the board. Then the next day after school, we'd pick up where we left off. It was a super Monopoly marathon for probably a year or so.
I'm not much of a Monopoly player now, but I do have about 6 different Monopoly games - original, extra crispy (oh, wait, that's chicken). Let's start again....... original, golf, Millenium, Star Wars, I Love Lucy, Las Vegas, and I think there might be one more. Hmmmm, maybe I should challenge DH to a game? Three of them have never been opened. I got them just because they seemed like a nice collectible. Hmmmm - eBay? Maybe I should sell them????
My Mom and I used to play Sorry when I was a little girl. But, we had our own special rules we made up and played by. Much more fun than the "boring" rules for that "board" game. I don't think I could ever enjoy playing it the "right" way, according to the rules.
Mom and I used to play War, but that's a card game, so it shouldn't even be mentioned in this post.
And, then there is SCRABBLE !!!!! Mom and I played Scrabble OFTEN. Mom and I were playing that on December 18th, 1967, when I went into labor with my first son. We probably never finished that game. (I went into labor about 8:00PM and went to the hospital about 1:00AM on the 19th, and he was born at 5:45AM on the 19th.) (I think babies were born "faster" back then.)
So, what is my favorite board game? .

I wanna play! Anyone wanna play Trivial Pursuit with me??????? Hubby is a sore LOSER!
I love playing Candyland & Memory right now; 'cause they are my son's favorites. He is actually getting quite good. I have always had an aversion to Monopoly; crispy or not. Personally, I like Sequence.
And, Trivial Pursuit - how fun! The last time I played, my SD and her boyfriend brought over the 80's version. I thought I'd do awful, because the 80's were just not my time period. But, I actually won!
