I know we all spend so much time here at CM that we sometimes feel it's a shame we don't get paid for it. In a perfect world, I would get some sort of monetary compensation for any journal that made ten or more people smile and possibly soil their underwear.
This morning I scrolled to the bottom of the page and clicked on "Jobs" to see what, if any, opportunities CafeMom had to offer. Alas, they didn't have any positions to fill at the moment, and they are located in NewYork, which would mean I'd have to load up the family and relocate from the Big Corn Cob to the Big Apple.
Still, I found they lured me in with the details of employment.
This part of their description caught my attention:
We offer a competitive base salary as well as health/ dental/vision benefits, 401k, stock option plan, life insurance, short and long-term disability and paid vacation/ personal/sick time. More importantly, we have an excellent coffee machine, free soda, and celebrate birthdays with delicious cupcakes.
Did I read that right? CUPCAKES?! Really? Well, shoot! Sign me up! I'd like to make a deal with CM right now and I'm laying my cards on the table. In these trying times, I would be willing to trade my 401K for those delicious cupcakes. I'd still like the dental and health benefits, since I'll be living on the frosting-laden citizens of Tiny Cakedom.
Lest it go unnoticed: ErikaRobin WILL NOT work for peanuts, but she WILL work for CUPCAKES!
Comments:
Not only did your journal make me one of the ten people you aspire to make smile today, your tags made me laugh at my computer screen!
The fact that you spelled separated right means you just may be twins at heart, for sure.
That is too funny. I already work for hugs and kisses, why not add cupcakes tot he mix. especially if I don't have to bake them.
it totally cracks me up that cafemom would add that......i love this site. :D
p.s.---do you think when they give raises, it's in ice cream sundaes? cuz that's my dream job, right there. :D
I love cupcakes. But today is not my day. I'm fresh out of witty comments.
I shall return when I have something to say that will soil the panties of at least one reader.

Erika, you are hereby invited to be my coffee shop manager, and we will have Cake Week for every single employee's birthday. Cake Week includes cupcakes, ice cream, tiramisu, sherbet, cheesecake and Bailey's. Hopefully, we will not have too many employees. When hiring though, we need to space out birthdays so that we have at least one Cake Week per month.
Totally serious here.
